Only thing I can think of is 25tL uses gamespy servers and in return they're able to release it before hand. If that's not the case then I don't know..

You normally have to pay for direct2drive although I believe that people that have some sort of membership at gamespy occasionaly get to download a game for free.

Thats the Trymedia one hour trial version. Like Shareware, but with better schemes.

The money isn't spent on packaging, or manuals. The bulk of what you pay in the store goes to cover the expenses of the last 6 months to a year, in this case 2 years. Everyone who has ever played a game thinks how cool it would be to actually make one, but if you sit down and look at everyone in the credits and know each of them were being paid every week while it was in development, the cost skyrockets. The fact that this game is only $30 is amazing to me. :)

Its one of those one hour demo, you try it and after an hour you can't open it again until you pay for it. Hopw that helps!

This is called Direct2Drive, I baught the game yesterday off of D2D, takes a very long time to install (1-3 hours for me) but you download it directly to your hard-drive, install, then play. I am having trouble with the performance though, it's very choppy even though I have a "high-range PC".

Hope they release a patch.

Customization is nice though for online =D

It should be on the streets now. But the online download version is the full version. You just don't get a cool box. :-P
