View Full Version : Error in FM 'Ruined' mission 2?

I have read the walkthrough for these missions and it would appear that I am supposed to steal the purse off the roving guard at the beginning of this mission to generate the Saal key X to hall X. I have done this time and again but it doesn't generate the key in the location specified. Is it generated elsewhere? I am playing at expert level. Any help appreciated!

It usually works but Lady Jo reported the same problem you're experiencing. The key would appear eventually but she could not determine what triggered it. I'd suggest continuing on and then come back later and see if it is there. As far as I can recall, you don't really need that key to complete the mission. I believe it only gives you access to some loot (and you may be able to smash the door open, if you're not ghosting).

Doh! That is SO annoying! :mad: I had gotten much further into this mission then restarted it because I thought I needed to get into that room! Hey Ho, off we go again. Many thanks for the reply.

This was an impressive mission that could really have benefited from some beta testing. I never finished mission 1 because of the drop-a-body-CTD issue. Has the author ever released a version with fixes for all the problems?

Yes. As far as I know, the last version released fixed the drop-the-body crashes plus some other problems. It's really quite a fun mission if a little hard to figure out in places. I enjoyed playing it, which I did several times before ffox and I did the walkthrough. :)
