Hey, fantastic to see that startopia still lives and that there are projects going on in the community. I'm a huge fan of the game first found it by downloading it on one of those file share things years and years ago, no music or voice but my god that game shaped my gaming taste to date, therefore startopia has always been of huge importance to me. Recently got back from travelling and dug up my copy (eventually went and bought it of course) and got playing again. I've downloaded the huge content i've found out there already however many of the sites are dying and therefore much content has passed into non existance. A feature i would to see in the game is updating the auction system. Often i dont use it because i already have the stuff they sell but i think it would be a fantastic feature to host an auction (perhaps you can do this in the multiplayer version (never played it on multi) but in sandbox it would be a fantastic profit maker. Factory produce items then auction them off to station competitors. Anyone a good enough scripter to have a go at this?
Live long and sober.

If you want to host an auction, have the item you wish to auction off in your buffer, right click on a cargo hold to open up the cargo interface and beam your item into the greyed out "E" symbol at the bottom. You can do this at any time as long as you own a cargo hold.

*jaw drops* your kidding! The gmae doesn't mention this EVER!!! Rushes back to find out. Incidently for anyone interested thought i'd try my hand at a startopia comic episode for a laugh with screenshots in that cartoon cheat you can enable and maybe use the scuzzers for cameras. Just a thought. Adios

It was mentioned once in the gameplay section of the old MuckyFoot website. I have a working version of the old site at http://startopia.wideopen.biz/.

Ahh, it's a lovely warm feeling to make a real difference. I suggested that the Mucky Foot site should be archived in wideopen.biz (Maximus Oozenthor, or just Max Ooze, is the Yetucyun Webmaster) and so he went and did it. At no small cost to himself in time and effort, I'll add, as the HTML used by the MF team was apparently the stuff of nightmares. Of course, I wouldn't know about that.
Yes something has started, although the correct term should be unfrozen. The Yetucyun Guild is with us one more - yea, the Second Coming of Yetuc is nigh! And even you could make a difference by getting involved - see the relevant, clearly labeled thread in this very forum or move on to startopia.wideopen.biz to find out more, and gaze upon that priceless relic of the past, the patched up Mucky Foot website. All hail the (pickled) Foot!
Right, if that sales pitch isn't enough, nothing is. A brief precis for those too lazy to change sites - we're looking for testers, voices (particularly female leads) artistic talent (particularly skinners) and coders (feel free to apply, but talent is essential - we'll decide whether you have the potential to go the distance so apply even if you don't think you're good enough, examples of work essential, ideas appreciated). As this will grow into quite a large project, with sound in all missions, we are also always appreciative of additional hosting.
We look forward to working with you (if you choose to apply)!
