Black Screen On FF7

Ok here's my problem. I've installed FF7 (Full Install) on my computer, and when I run it it just has a black screen. If I click enter then it goes to the New Game/Continue Screen. When I select New Game it takes me to another black screen and I have to Alt-Tab out of it. There's no sound or movie playing. I have the upside down patch installed. Also, I can play the movies fine on windows media player.

Actually the graphics card is 3D Intel Extreme Graphics AGP. My bad.

Sounds bad, better reformat to wipe out any corrupt files.

Your not using the TNT patch are you? Because I don't believe that Intel video that your using is compatible. So, if you're trying to use that TNTpatch with that video...don't use the patch. It only works for Nvidia cards, and a few ATI ones. I recall that if you use the TNTpatch with video cards or video drivers not made for it...you will get black screens or Crashes to the Desktop. That could be where you're at.

Or, something is up with those movies. It may be normal if it doesn't play in the game and does in mediaplayer, though. Still can be some kind of codec problem, I guess. I'm going off hearsay, but that upsidedown patch is supposed to clear that problem up. Me, personally, have never needed the upsidedown patch to get the game working. So.....it's hearsay.

Although, I will admit, that the movies don't play smoothly on my PC, anymore. I have some kind of codec conflict or something that I can't trace down. I know if I reinstall windows, it will go away...but, I don't care about this game enough to do that.

Did you install that movieplayer that's in the installation menu of FF7? Could be that you need that installed first.
