The Eternal Prison on the map

If you go to a BO2 map, down to the right, you see what I think is the Eternal Prison: the little islands and the main edifice. My question is: why is it that Janos says that from where they were (the Device) the Eternal Prison was far to the north? If they were beneath meridian, the prison would be to the southeast.

It's a map, it can be oriented any which way.
But good catch there, this must mean that Willendorf is the land furthest to the North, and the citadel is closest to the south.

Well, it could also be that big building with the red light in the concept art. Hard to really say.

nah...looking at the various maps of nosgoth as well as the shape of the eternal prison. it's south...another chink in the armor of bo2.

Well, give Janos a break. He was getting his life drained by the device for the last few hundred years, so he's bound to be disoriented when he wakes up :p

i need to go north to get to the southern sea?!!...won't i fall of the edge of the earth?

the earth is round like a ball you won't fall off...at least the last time i checked.

hey do you realize how long i have been stuck in here lady!?

You do realize i'm a vampire!

yeah your kain...destined to bring the pillars back to vampire rule.

is it possible!! did i misread all the signs?

apparently...look thanks i'm going south i'll come back if i find this eternal prison...

Maybe Janos had no idea where he actually was. The Hylden City seems to be about as far south as you can get. (I'm just guessing, maybe it's on the far eastern coast of Nosgoth's continent.) All that he knew was that there was an underground tunnel that led there. (I'm going to have to tape BO2 or replay it or something.)

It was probably that they only had limited access to that guy who played Janos, they probably had to do all his lines in one day. BO2 looked like it had the lowest budget of the series, and they would have had to spend alot more money if they had to call the bigger stars in the series for retakes.

yeah but kain did find it eventually smoke....the fact that some levels were omitted would answer this but still...the maps and even that rare concept map showed the eternal prison in the deep south of nosgoth.

(the repaired BO2 dialog, they couldn't aford to rehire that odo guy, so they just spliced in dialog from "little nicky") :D
