ambush at fish restaurant

Just started playing Hitman yesterday. Maybe I havn't figured out the tricks just yet, but I was wondering how to drop the Red Dragon amulet inside the restaurant. I completed the other objectives, yet I was not able to figure out how to drop the amulet in the restaurant. I selected it from my menu, had it in hand, but couldn't drop it. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

If you have standard WSAD-controls, press "F" if not, check what key you have assigned to "drop weapon" and press that one.

With WASD, you'll hit F, otherwise (using the numpad) you'll hit "-" on your numpad

Thanks for the replies. It of course worked as you said. I guess I was trying to drop the item via the use window rather than the numpad (-). Thanks again.
