Now, I've always come to know the guy in Steinchencroe stirring his pot as 'Irmok the Mad' but I can't for the life of me remember where I got that name from. I can't find that name in any FAQs or any other official sources so where did that name come from? Anyone care to enlighten me?

Could you be a bit more specific? I can't understand your grammar.

Now, I've always come to know the guy in Steinchencroe stirring his pot as 'Irmok the Mad' but I can't for the life of me remember where I got that name from. I can't find that name in any FAQs or any other official sources so where did that name come from?To the best of my knowledge, there are no official sources that name the Steinchencröe madman as 'Irmok the Mad'.

I believe that the name's origins in Legacy of Kain fandom can be traced back to Nosgoth.net (http://www.nosgoth.net). 'Irmok the Mad' is identified by name in their BO1 Script (http://www.nosgoth.net/Blood_Omen/dialogue.htm).

Nosgoth.net was the first major fansite for LoK, and I'm pretty sure that Cybor and Tenaya were in contact with people who worked on the game. There's a fair chance that they named the madman 'Irmok' in the script because they had that infomation from a Blood Omen team member, or they may have just made it up. Without asking them, it's impossible to know. Whatever, Nosgoth.net - as a frequently-visited and much loved fansite - has likely influenced LoK fans to accept this name, whether it's actually canon or not.
