Defiance
In defiance we discover that kain has the Heart of Darkness inside him.
(which belonged to Janos)
Blood Omen
In Blood omen 1, after kain gets murdered he gets resurrected as a vampire, by having the Heart of Darkness put inside him by Mortanius.
Well while playing through BO1 kain goes backward in time to kill William the Just, then later on finds a way to go forward in time the same amount of yrs.
Got that so far ... :p
Blood Omen 2
BO2 is based after BO1, he gets defeated in battle and 'hibernates' for 200 yrs, well later on in the game he saves Janos and starts having convosations with him.
Now what i find odd is that he's having convosations with him with the heart of darkness inside himself, plus he's in the same time period, ( he did go back in time but then went forward the same amount of yrs)
So shudn't Janos be dead?
Unless Mortanius went forward got the heart went backwards and put it in kain.
Now am i right by all of that? :p
What do you think?

Chronologically, this is the order of the games:
SR2 (except for the part where Raziel is trapped in the future)
Defiance-Kain's chapters until he finds the Oracle
|
V
BO1 and Defiance-Raziel's chapters
|
V
BO2
|
V
SR1
So basically, Janos loses his heart at the end of SR2 when the Sarafan raid his sanctuary. Janos' body is kept safe by Vorador. The Sarafan hide his heart and keep it safe until Mortanius gets ahold of it. Then, in BO1, Mortanius uses the Heart of Darkness to raise Kain as a vampire. Kain goes through the events of BO1, BO2, and SR1. Then he goes back in time to the era of SR2. Right after SR2 ends, Defiance begins so he goes through Defiance with the heart. Then he reaches the Oracle (the Elder God) and gets sent forward in time to the BO1 era where Raziel is ready to extract the Heart of Darkness. Then Raziel takes the heart and uses it to revive Janos. It makes sense if you keep in mind that technically speaking, Janos' heart is much older than he is due to time travel. Kain had it while Janos was unconscious and then the time travel allowed the heart to be returned at the same time as young Kain is running around Nosgoth.

Let's not forget that time travel really screws up your head!
Anyway, not sure whether both of you have posted it yet, I'm still half a sleep and vaguely understand things, but originally Kain became the balance guardian and damned the pillars (BO1).
Then he built up his empire and ruled nosgoth from the seat of the pillar of balance, while Ariel still haunts it and Raz, dumah ect all have territories and so on (SR1)
Kain and Raziel then travel back in time to SR2 where kain was originally supposed to die in Williams Chapple. The pull of history forcing Raziel to unwillingly do this task.....but he didn't with his free will. So everything goes on, history altering to allow Kain to live. Next event is Raziel being a paradox himself being both inside and outside the reaver, this time Kain being arround to prevent Raziel from being absorbed by it, changing the history of nosgoth dramatically. (SR2)
Because of the change in the timeline BO2 now occurs, with the hylden breaking through the barrier formed by the pillars and taking control of nosgoth, kain is defeated in the first battle he has to regain nosgoth, but is then found by umah and revived and so on. (BO2)
Meanwhile in the distant history of nosogth, to accomodate the changes that have now caused BO2 to occur, because Raziel can return the heart of darkness (because he's arround after the time traveling) and Kain can try and stop the hylden and attempt to fully reclaim his destiny which was taken from him by Nupraptor's madness we then have the events of Definace.
So yes logically it's as you said, Defiance, BO1/SR2, BO2, SR1, actually, it's a pain in the neck to understand. :p

heres my "how to understand the lok story" list:
1) play all the games in the order they were released.
2) when youre finished, ask yourself, "do i feel that i completely understand the story yet?"
3) if the answer to number 2 is "no," go back to step 1. if "yes," proceed to 4.
4) the end. :p

I don't know what everyones problem is. i understand it all perfectly, sure I have questions but (like what was Kain's plan when be saved Raziel form the reaver?) but for the most of it I understand it fully. Or is it just me? But is does help that I've gone through the games 5 or 6 times each (with the exception of bo2 because its frustrating to play and just not fun)

what you dont understand is that janos'es hart has a little timeloop of it's own, it's won little ourboros like raziel's soul does with the soul reaver
janos gets his heart ripped out in SR2 aeons later in BO1, Mortanius says "screw it! I'm making a scion of balance, I'm bored of waiting for prophecies to fullfil themselves, I will set it in motion" and grabs the heart, puts it in kain, then kain lives happily until defiance and then comes back to the time of BO, then Raziel rips his heart out this heart (notice this is the fure, elder kain), and puts it in janos, this janos stays alive for until BO2, so the heart BO2 janos has is actually the one elder kain has, it has nothing to do with fledging kain's making.
