thief under xp pro

i know,that my english is not the best (i'm german) but i hope,that you can understand me.
i had installed thief 1 on my computer with windows xp pro sp 2.
i play the first mission and the game allways canceled and my computer reboot.
can you say,how i can play this game??

We need more details, zadgert, probably. Anyhow, why don't you have a read through the the TTLG FAQ (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031) and see if something there doesn't fix it? I'm thinking video codec issues but not sure. Luck.
