Is anyone near London England? I may be going there for a couple of months for my job. It's not definite yet though. I will probably know later in the week. Or so they tell me.

What kind of place is London like? I heard that it is very expensive to park a car there, and that petrol is about $4 a liter. I was told, though, that you can take the subway anywhere you want to go. Where do you live now? When was the last time you were there?

well, I live in North Wales. the parking is quite expensice, depemding on where you park
the restaraunts there are very good, the public toilets cost 20p and it is a very interesting place, lots of history :)
some of the walking and garden parks around london are very pretty (did *I* just say pretty?)lol, anyway, it is a very wonderful place.
Thelast time I went was about a year ago. you can see all of london (about) in the london eye
Hope this helps, and a big welcome to our Lovely country

Thanks a lot. I appreciate it. It sounds very interesting, including the history. It amazes me that buildings have stood for so long, especially the castles. They don't make them like they used to. LOL!

Hey, One True Thief, my trip has been postponed, and possibly canceled, but if it is ever back on, would it be possible to meet? Are you far from London?

No, I didn't know you were only 14. Scratch that idea. :)
I thought maybe you could show me around London, if you were older.
But sometimes it is still nice to put a face to a name.

BTW, littlek, I thought that perhaps you could find the elephant where you found all of those other critters who have befriended you. :)
Have you seen any more of them lately? Or did word get around in the animal world to stay away from your place? :)

LOL Yubetcha! I have detected a few molecules of my smelly black and white fiend but have not discovered any tunnels under the barn. I spent many hours last summer digging a 3 foot trench (well it was supposed to be 3' but I could only manage 2.5) on the side of the barn the vile creature like to dig under. I then buried wire in that trench so when it creeped about and tried to dig, it would just hit wire *insert evil, insane laugh* My neigbor reports that her dog had a recent encounter with the stinker. So I know it is nearby.
I do suspect a racoon is raiding the cat food. I have labored to secure wire in front of the stalls only to realize later that it merely crawls up the sides. I will soon set a trap for that sneaky one. I have yet to find any evidence that elephants have been raiding my barn. But I'll keep a look out for those sneaky taffers too. I may have to get a bigger trap. Details to follow....

LOL littlek. Perhaps the pet store will have elephant traps. Be sure that the store does not give you hamster traps. Hopefully you have the dwarf elephants. There might be enough traps for those kind. LOL If they don't have them, perhaps the traps for albino elephants will work.
:D
Reminds me of those old old jokes about elephants in the butter in the refrigerator.

.....or pink elephants. What's this butter elephant?
Many years ago, I heard an old joke. It goes something like this:
How do you know if you have an elephant in your refrigerator?
His footprints are in the butter.
and BTW, if you see any pink elephants, I'll have what you're having. :D
I was going to mention before, but forgot, that you can tell a hamster cage from an elephant cage by the words on the bottom side of the cage. It says, "For hamsters only. Do not use for elephants". So be sure to turn the cage over to read that. The only problem may be if there is an animal in the cage at the time. It might get a headache, and the bedding will fall all over the floor. Another clue is that some hamster cages have those little plastic logs for hamsters to crawl inside of. Elephant cages have trees for the elephants to scratch themselves. Otherwise they are hard to tell apart. LOL!
