Any word on when crash to desktop will be resolved?

I've had the game for a while now and just cannot play it because of crashes to desktop. I know about the graphics glitches and full resolution issues, I've had NONE of those because I updated by drivers to beta Nvidia drivers at the time (although the newly released retail ones work as well).

My main issue is that while happily playing the game, it will crash to desktop and thats it. I get an error message which I forgot to capture for posting here, but it doesnt seem to mention a video or sound driver in it. I've noticed other people on the forum having the same issue.... too bad because the game is fairly good but these game developers are rapidly losing (at least this one) customers in my eye.
