Kain's Adversary

Maybe this has been said before, but have you noticed at the end of defiance in the final cutscene, just before Raziel uses MObiues his body to go to the material realm, the middle person on the mural looks just like Kain (only the person is blue and has wings). If you look at the face it is exactly the same. Maybe someone could post a screenshot of it ;)

Yep, I've noticed. Sorry I can't post a screenie, but I think that's supposed to be a prophetic vision of the scion of balance - a lot like the murals of the Hylden and Vampire heroes we saw thruout the game. Looks to me like a combination of Kain and all of Raziel's vampire and wraith incarnations. I just hope Kain doesn't actually look like that in the next game!

I don't know really. I've just gotten used to Kain the way he's been in the SR series and Defiance.
The mural looks overdone to me, like "OMG!!11 It's tEh super-duper uLtRa-mega UnsHtoPPable enhanced-o KAIN!!111" Good 'ol red-sash-and-reaver Kain is bad--- enough for me. :D

He should gain the ability to become blue scion Kain near the end of the game and he should keep his 'crown'/'cranial mutation' as well.

I think the whole "blue Kain" thing was that the seers said that a vampire would come, so everyone assumed that he was blue. That, or they had trouble distiguishing between Raziel and Kain.

I know, but I like the idea though. Like how Kains scar being healed was sort of a metaphor for when Raz healed his mind/soul. Kain becoming like pure pre-curse vampire would symbolic that the corruption is being erradicated from Nosgoth and so would actually seeing the pillars restored.

haha!! that was classic!! I guess it's a cool mural for what it's worth. As long as the wrap up the series I'll be content..

Yes that wouldbe a nice aspect of the game, but that this 'purified form' only could be held for a given period of time. This way Kain will have a dual nature, the purified and the corrupted, each with its special abilities.

I think the whole "blue Kain" thing was that the seers said that a vampire would come, so everyone assumed that he was blue. That, or they had trouble distiguishing between Raziel and Kain.Well, thing is, there were two different possible outcomes for the prophecied battle. One where Kain would win, and one where Raziel would win. No matter who won, from the remains, a new warrior would rise, combining the powers of Raziel and Kain.
I guess they made him blue with Kain's face since they thought "it's a combination of both, so he'll get the physical appearance of both". Thus, Raziel's blue skin, and Kain's face and such.
...in a way it makes sense.

So Kain is now the combination of the Vampire and Hylden heros? I like that. He'd not only be the balance of the pillars but between all the waring races of Nosgoth and save them all from the wheel.

As long as they make the next LOK game, I wouldn't mind kain being multicolor

i'm all for Kain being a big blue bad boy with huge wings. make him just like Raziel was before he got thrown into the abyss, only with Kain's face instead of Raziel's
that would be taking Kain's bad boyness to the next level. it's time to do that.

maybe part of the reason they killed raz off was because they wanted kain to become more like him? but i dont know

i guess it might be because they realize that mucking around in the spectral plane combined with tons of massive jumping puzzles is not always the funnest part of the game
i know in Defiance i'm always so relieved to get back to a Kain level because i get a break from having to do all that extra stuff. i find Raziel's gameplay is a lot more like "work" than Kain's gameplay is.
perhaps the devs want to bring the series back to a less spectral plane intensive game
that's just a guess of course

No, no, no. Like Janos, but he keeps his scaly/veiny skin and the formation on his head. I mean the crown thing he's had so far, not the spirit symbol, cause that's what was above his head in the mural. That's how he was in the scion of balance mural. And it would keep the idea that he's the combination of the heros rather than just Raz and just himself. But he'd be all Kain personalitywise abeit uncorrupted.
