FF7 random crash

My FF 7 crashes randomly but only during a battle. It never crashes during regular play. Here are my specs:

pentium 4 2.8 ghz

SB audigy 2 ZS

G4 mx 440 64mb

i have all the latest drivers fo them.

Can't think of anything...other than putting sound to Basic Acceleration mode.

With the, Dxdiag, command.

Could be a corrupt file....like a sound file, or animation? You may be able to get by if you install the game the other way.... Min install vs Full install.
