OT:
yeah, but its not just ATi in general, the naming applies to all cards, Shader Model 1.1 for GeForce 3/4 cards;Shader Model 2.0 for GeForce FX and radeon 9xxx/Xxxx cards and Shader Model 3.0 for GeForce 6 cards.

Ahh i'd call that just `Pixel Shader`.
1.1 being the first released version, then 1.4, then 2.0, then nVidia came out with 3.0 whilst ATI doesnt support 3.0

you say pixel shader when it involves only programmable pixel processing(dynamic lights,motion blur,per pixel manipulation), shader model when you talk about the whole(pixel and vertex/geometry shader)
oh well were waay off topic now :)

Just a note, FX series, ex. 5900 is a G5 Series card, they are 100% DX9 Compatible, Direct3D/OpenGL, and offer pixel 2.0, so might want to change that to GeForce 5 Series. IF im not mistaken I think FX 5600 and up meet those requirements, could be wrong as I have kinda lost the loop in the FX Series ..

Yes the 5 series is dx9 compatible, however this is under the recommended spec section so we are stating what we recommend (ie latest cards)

ok, the way I was reading it was it was saying that Geforce 6 cards are dx9 compat. ect, sorta saying that FX Series are not, but anyways, just a note, tested on FX series, 5700, 5900. 5950, (both 128MB and 256MB flavors) and those 3 (I dont have 5600 atm) are able to run the game maxed grafix with no performance loss. Still receives steady playable FPS. Just a note I guess to anyone who reads this so they know they do not need to run out and buy the latest $400+ card to play the game.
