Lara Croft Tomb Raider
Chapter 1 Escape from the arena
I curiously walked to the dark hole.Because I couldn't see a thing,I lit a flare.Just then, the chirugaii started vibrating very furiously in my hand, like it did when Kurtis called it.I accidentally let it escape and off it flew.I sprinted at full speed, trying to catch it, but couldn't.Ten seconds later the flare went out but the magic disk had it's own faint,yellowish-orange light. After another ten seconds, the chiruaii started to circle around a dark figure.I took out a new flare and nearly dropped it in surprise as in front of me was a horrible sight.
Kurtis my colleague, who I left to deal with boaz was in front of me.Blood covered his shirt, his knees trembled and sweaty hair want into his eyes.In those piercing dark blue eyes was no hope and pain, but they suddnely lit up when I came. His weakness caused him to fall backwards but i caught him and safely put him on the floor."L-Lara,"he said weakly,"D-decided t-to pa-y your old col-coleague a v-visit?"
I raised my eye brows,"Friends help at the time of need, don't they?"
"You con-consider me your friend?"He asked a bit more strongly.
"Yeah, you are the last person who is my friend,Von Croy is dead,as you know."I answered.
"Then do me a fever, will you?Take me out of this place.I will die if I stay here. The hospital will take care of my wound,"he said, showing it to me.
"Not that bad,"I said impudentaly."Up you get.Up.Up.UP!Here,take my hand and get up," I said, offering him my right hand.He grabbed it then got up.With my help,he managed to limp forward.
After a few minutes,we were back in the arena.I saw a lever.I made Kurtis sit down on the round floor, where I picked up his weapon and sprinted towards the lever, jumping on the headless nymph on the way.I pulled the lever and the circular floor arose, taking Kurtis with it."Hey, Lara!" he shouted.
"What?!" I screamed back.
"This may be timed.I cannot walk without your support and you also may not be able to jump that high,"he answered.
"Good point," I muttered to my self and ran to grab it."You can do a standing jump, right?"I asked making Kurtis stand up.
"No I can't,"he said with horror.
"I don't like to hear the word 'no'.Now JUMP!"I shouted.Kurtis only managed a short hop but he did make it to the ledge I wanted him to.I now noticed after joining him, that his wound was once again, bleeding.

Chapter 2: To the Hospital
"You never told me you had a wound like this!"I screamed,"You must have used all YOUR medicine while fighting Boaz but I have mine. Why do you want to kill yourself like that?huh? My watch is not showing your death!".Kurtis was clutching his wound to prevent the bleeding but instead he was receiving pain in return and so much that his forehead touched the ground as he continued to groan.Deep inside I knew it was my fault but I ignored the feeling."Lie down,"I said a bit more calmly. He obeyed, while I fished out the health items I collected in Paris and Prague. His wound must have been terrible as I could see a green door through him. When I was finished,I made him stand up and limp towards the door.I opened it and was surprised to find myself near the square, near Vasiley's apartment.I carefully put him in the backseat of the SUV I drove in and took the drivers'seat myself.I started the car and we were off."What happened between you and Boaz?"I asked. He began,"First I ran through her legs and shot her face. She opened her pods and began to sparay her venom on me.I shot the pods and it broke.I did this with the rest of the pods after which she fell down the first time.Then.she came out in her flying nymph form.I shot her again and she fell down.I thought she was dead and she stabbed me.I cut her head with the chirugaii and thats it."Now I wished I had fought Boaz with him. These thoughts were gone by the sight of the hospital."Prague City Hospital,"I said to him."C'mon, let's get you on a stretcher,".

Chapter 3: Prague City Hospital
After I had filled all the formalities,I noted the time. The surgery was of three hours. After this a blonde woman came out,who was the doctor.I rushed to her,"How is he?" I asked breathlessly."He's out of danger. He's still unconcious but we gave him a pill and he is now sleeping. He couldn't have made it if it weren't of those bandages. In fact,it's a miracle that he is alive.Any idea how he got it?"she asked.
"Well,he told me that an animal stabbed him,"I lied.
"OK.Here is the list of medicine he will need,"she said and handed me a paper."When will he be normal again?"I asked folding the list.
"It will take time," she replied.
"Can I see him?"I asked.
"Sure.Why not,"she answered and left.
I made my way to ward no.105.Kurtis was sleeping peacefully.I smiled and sat on the chair next to him.I decided to read the list.I got up and went to the pharmacy. After buying the medicine,I saw the doctor coming out of Kurtis' ward."What happened?"I asked.
"Some one closed the ventilation machine, the only source to keep him alive.I'm sorry,"she said and walked away.I ran to the ward, with tears rolling down my cheeks. He was there looking as peaceful as ever."Kurtis wake up.C'mon,I'm not in a mood for joke.WAKE UP!!"I screamed.I shook him very hard.I held his left wrist for any pulse. Then I pressed the right vein in his neck.No heart beat."L-lara," said a voice and I woke up.Beads of sweat rolling down my temples. It was just a dream!I thanked God that it was.The same calm voice said my name again.I took a glance at Kurtis, who had opened his dark blue eyes."Yes," I answered.Kurtis' eyes finally found me.He tried to sit up and was succesful."Where am I?"he asked.
"Prague City Hospital,"I replied.
"Who paid the fees?he inquired.
"You're looking at her,"I said.
"You?!"
"Bingo!"
"Why?" he asked.
"Friends help,"I answered and made him smile.
"Lara?"
"Hmmmmmm"
"I wanted to show you something.A library. In Utah.Every bit if information on the Nephilim. In my real house. Here(hands a small booklet).Take my passport and yours as well.Go to a travel agent and book two seats for Utah.I don't think a small explosion couldn't kill the Nephilim,"he said.
"How do you-,"
"I read your mind,"came the answer.
"I'll accompany you on one condition?"I said.
"And that is?"
"I'll pay for EVERYTHING!"
"Well,if you insist,"he replied.
"You will take time to recover.Probably a month,"I said to him.
"Whatever.Meanwhilecall the nurse.I'm famished.I haven't eaten anything since I left Paris," he said rubbing his stomach.
"I saw a shop on our way here.I'll bring some food,"I adi and left him.
After half an hour,I returned with a medium sized pizza,a bottle of apple juice and three mineral water bottles.I closed the door and put the food on the bed."It's about time,"he said rubbing his hands."Sorry Mr.Trent, but you are allowed nothing but juice for three days.I remembered this when I saw a bottle of apple juice in the shop. The doctor also forgot to tell me.I bought it and nothing to eat for three days.Got it?"I said.
"Yes mademosielle,"he replied dully.
"Now here, drink up your meal,"I said.
"I hate apple!"he said disgustingly.
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away,"I teased him.I hungrily ate my pizza. After every bit of it was finished,I put the juica and the water beside Kurtis."Where will you sleep?"he asked.
"Right now,on the sofa,"I replied and collapsed on it."G-night,"I said."Same to you,"came the answer.

Chapter 4: Preparations
After three weeks,Kurtis was discharged. He could run, jump, grab, shoot,go in stealth and sprint (Note:Yes,in this story he can sprint). We both returned to Paris.I was no longer a wanted woman so I bought a new pair of holsters, grrn, blue and black tank tops, khaki and army shorts, army.linen and jeans' pants, new backpack and new ankle high boots.Kurtis took me to his apartment. He decided to make lunch while I pack my suitcase. After I completed my errend,I joined Kurtis in the kitchen. On the table were sausages and sandwiches.I helped myself.Fter we both had eaten,I saw Kurtis light a ciggarette.Just as he was going to pop it into his mouth,I grabbed it and threw it in the bin."Why do you smoke?"I asked."Bad habbit I knowCouldn't help myslef,"he answered.
"Well,to accompany me you'd better stop,"I said.
"Okay!Take it easy.I won't smoke again.Besides,I only smoke twice or thrice a week,"he said.
"Make it never a week.Understood?"
"Sir,yes, sir,"he said giving me an active solute.
"Okay, have your suitcase ready?Okay good.I booked your bike as well.Just in case,"I said and made my way to the door, with my fiend behind me.
He vaulted over his bike and started it.I also sat on it and we were soon on a plane to Utah.We finally, landed and saw a beautiful sight.

Chapter 5: Utah
"Welcome,to my home,Utah,"Kurtis said,"I spent twelve years of my life here.It has some of my good memories, but bad as well.Hop on!"he said vaulting over his chopper.I did the smae. After ten minutes,we both entered a small narrow street. The road was smooth, the houses were small but beautiful. The whole lane was clean. Then Kurtis stopped in front of a huge mansionm, similar to mine.He walked towards the number pad and tapped a five digit code.Just then, the metal gates swung open and we entered the house. It was just like mine but instead of the indoor gym and the conference room were navy and green doors."The green door is your room and the navy is my room. The library is in my room. You go and change. Then we'll both hve tea together.Afterwards,we'll go and examine the library,"Kurtis instructed.I nodded and went ot my room. The room was fairly large, and green.A large bed, a sofa,a computer,a study table and next to it was a wardrobe.I locked the door and put on a black tank top and jeans.I unlocked the door and went into the next room. The walls were blue, like the whole room and only had the stuff I had in mine.On the study table were sandwiches and chocolate cake (Note:Yum Yum  ) and two cups of tea.there were two chairs,face-to-face,one occupied by a man who was wearing a black shirt and grey trousers, with his dark blue eyes fixed on the wall clock."Better check on her,"he muttered and was about to rise when I said ,"There will be no need for that Mr.Trent,I am already here,".
"What took you so long?"he inquired."I am not that patient you know,"
"That I can tell from your tone,"I said calmly,"Anyway, what are we waiting for?Tuck in!"I said.
"YOU STOLE MY LINE CROFT!" he cried out.
"TUCK IN!"I yelled for I was very hungry. He obeyed and we both ate hungrily. After we both had filled our tummies with food,we both went towards a door.It was very strange. It had strange markings all around it.On the right hand side was a circle with five blade-like things around it.The door had panels but no handle.Kurtis outstretched his right hand and the chirugaii rushed to it's owner. He activated it's blades and pressed it on top of the circle.Immediately, the strange marking began to move and the door opened inwards.I was about to ask how but got the answer,"Telepathy,".
"Stop invading my mind, will you?"I said.
"Fine,"he answered in his usual calm voice. We both then, entered the library.

Chapter 6: A discovery
"This is amazing!I never seen so many books in all my life. This must be the double amount of books I have in my library!"I exclaimed."Whatever,"Kurtis said in a non-interested tone.Shelves and shelves covering the huge walls, containing nothing but books. In the centre of the library was again,a study table with two chairs."See those shelves?Over there with blue books. That's the 'N' part. You check for Nephilim there.I'll check these Lux Veritatis ones.Got it?"he asked.
"Got it,"I said and made my way to the ladder.I started climbing the ladder and threw all the books on the Nephilim to the ground. As I climbed higher and higher, the pile grew and grew.I, after climbing for ten minutes, dropped down, and at the same moment,Kurtis did."I got all the books on the Nephilim,"I said,"You?"
"I got all on the Lux Veritatis.Let's search them. Now,switch places,"he said and went to my pile.I opened a book on Lux Veritatis and I nearly droppend it as Kurtis cried out my name.I rushed to him."This book tells us how to kill the Nephilim.Listen.'Use the Periapt Shards to kill the human form of the Nephilim,The heart must be taken out and stabbed by the weapon of light, also known as the magic chirugaii,or it's brothers. The Nephilim could only be killed in this way.'"He looked at me with horror, and I returned that look."Don't tell me the shards are still stuck in Eckhart's body,"he guessed.
"They are,"I admitted."And it's been nearly a month! We should get back to Prague immediately. We have to get the shards before Karel does otherwise, there will be certainly no tomb raider or demon hunter!"I exclaimed."I'll book two tickets right now-"
"Leave it to me,"he said."Now get some sleep. You look horrible."He was leaving the library and I ran to catch up with him.I put my hand on his left shoulder, after a second,he twisted my right arm and let it rest on his front, like he did at the Louvre. He then threw me down but thanks to gymnastics,I did a graceful handstand. The moment my foot connected with the floor,a sharp blow caused me fall on my front.Kurtis put his foot on the back of my neck and asked is the damsel in distress?"Anry at the question,I lifted my left leg and bent it suddenly and he fell ahead of me.I grabbed my chance and ran to my room.I locked the door and fell on the bed into a relaxing sleep.

Chapter seven: Discussions
I woke up the next morning to find Kurtis on the sofa. Being still half asleep, I went to the bathroom to get a nice hot shower and clean teeth for I was thinking of only that. I came out and found Kurtis leaning against the wall and smirking.
"Nice dress," he said, pointing to my linen pants and blue tank top.
"What are you doing in my room?" I asked quickly and surprisingly.
"Well," he hesitated before explaining, "Karel and Gunderson made an attempt to murder me last night. I got away from them and had no other choice but your room so I-"
"So you used your mind tricks to open the door, right?" I asked guessing.
He ran his hand through his thick hair, "Yes. I slept on the sofa," he pointed.
"Why my room? There are many other rooms in this house, right?" I asked.
"Your room is bullet and explosive proof," he answered. I then realized why he had given me this room, so I wouldn't get hurt! I sat down on the sofa with my face in my hands. He came and sat down beside me and said,"I have booked two seats for Prague. We'll be leaving at seven thirty P.M. Oh, don't worry. Cheer up. I'm not called demon hunter for nothing you know." The last line was spoken with great pride. I got up and began to pack my stuff quitely. "Breakfast in my room," he said, "Or what ever is left of it," he said smiling. I nodded and he left soundlessly.
When all my belongings were in a suitcase, I went to Kurtis' room. There sure was a lot of damage. Bullet holes covered the walls and the study table was broken. The monitor of the computer was half broken. The only thing in not such a bad condition was the sofa and the bed.
On the bed was our breakfast. Scrambled eggs and beans on toast. I patiently waited for him to turn up. He did, in an apron. The last time, I didn't laugh, but this time, i had to,"Why do you wear an apron?"I asked laughing.
He raised an eyebrow. Now I laughed even harder, he looked exactly like a mother (with a goatee) who has just baked cookies and now is gonna scold her children for lieing to her that they didn't eat them. Kurtis seemed to have read my mind again, for he quickly pulled off the apron and threw it on top of the monitor. "Tuck in," he said and did before I did. I followed his route and ate the food hungrily.
After we had eaten, we decided to go for a walk in a park nearby. It was settled that we would decide on our way what to do when we get to Prague. "Eckhardt's body must be destroyed in the explosion," I said when we got there. Many people were there, some having picnics, some talking and laughing uncontrollably. About one third were children, playing and reading comics. "The Shards would still be there, correct?"
"Correct,"
"Karel might find another way to rebreed the Nephilim race, correct?"
"Again correct,"
"Eckhardt's glove is also destroyed along with the Sleeper."
At this point, Kurtis looked thoughtful, then he said, "Demon's exist, even after life, they do. If we destroy Karel, his helpers might take over. But for that, they need to sacrifice a Lux Veritatis, that means me!It was all true then, my father told me this. That was why they came to kill me last night, so I won't be an obstacle in their mission," even though, he knew all this, he looked surprised.
"Let's sit on the bench and talk there," I said quickly, gesturing towards the nearest bench. We sat on it and my colleague sighed heavily and covered his face with his hands. Slowly, his hands made their way through his hair and ended up in his lap. and he looked up at me."We'll need a plan," he said.
"I got one. May I?"
"Of course, explain as much as you want,"
"Thanks. I'll carry one shard and you'll do the same. We'll let Karel take the last one."Kurtis looked unsettled at the last line but my expression seemed to calm him. I smiled, this person trusted me a lot. Similarly I did, after all, he was the last person left I knew alive. Winston had a heartattack when he read the news of me being a suspect for Von Croy's murder."Back to the plan," I said snapping out of my thoughts."I'll challenge him to a little fight and-"
"Fight? Fight! No fights Lara. I mean it. No one shall get hurt," my partner objected.
"Not even Karel?" I asked hoping the answer would be 'yes'.
"Not even Karel!" he replied firmly. My jaw dropped. Then I remembered that I didn't tell him that what happened with me and Eckhardt.
"Kurtis, he murdered your father, not Eckhardt," I said.
"What?!Lara, go get some medicine. You are saying that Karel in Eckhardt's form actually murdered my father and not the real Eckhardt himself?"
"Yes!"
"You mean to say that Karel really murdered Von Croy in Eckhardt's form and not the real Eckhardt?" He asked disbelevingly.
"Yes!During my fight with Eckhardt, Karel came and stabbed him with the last shard. He asked me to join him in the new order of a new world. Then he went through a series of transformations, Bouchard, Lud**** the reporter and even you! He said that I could trust him and after he has transformed into you, his face was became so ugly. marking all over it. He outstrtched his right hand and there was it, the symbol, the symbol of the Nephilim! I then remembered Von Croy's murder. And then, he revealed himself a damnded Nephilim! Now, incase you're wondering," I added, "I think he transformed himself into you to make me think that there is no Kurtis trent. A stupid act, really."
Kurtis was still in shock, it was surprising for me too, and I understood his feelings.
"I trust you Lara, but beleive me, it is a shock for me," he replied to my explaination.
"I understand," I said softly."Now, back to the plan. I hope your aim is good,"
"It is,"
"Okay. if he's flying then you need to throw the shard, otherwise, you can come and stab him from behind. Whilst he's screaming, I'll give you the second Shard and kick him, you'll again stab him. Again, while he's at it I will take my shard and send buy him a one way ticket to hell for good. Got it?"
"Yes, it's an easy plan," he answered," but what about Gunderson or Karel's helpers?" he asked.
"We'll get them with firepower. What time our flight is anyway?"I asked.
"Seven thrty p.m,"he answered calmly."Oh no,man!it's four thirty already,"he said glancing at his watch."no wonder how time flies away,I have to arrange luch, or tea I guess and get guns ammunition-"
"Relax. tension never gets work done,"

More?! you actuallly like it?
I must be good then. I have good news, tr7 coming out after three months (a site said so), secondly, i have extended the story from 13 to 15 chapters, JUST FOR YOU!, Now, three chapters in one go, you desrve it :) .
Lara Croft Tomb Raider Chapter 8: the Ambush and the Flight We were too full for tea, so we skipped that. Kurtis was as slow as a slug in packing his things. After that, we both set out for guns and ammunition. Kurtis knew a shop from where we will get our requirements. Medipacks, handguns, shotguns, Uzi’s, all available. Since I was paying for our flights, Kurtis insisted on paying for the weapons. I allowed him in doing so. I selected two Vector R35’s and my companion, thirty clips for his Boran X. We were all ready to go, but fast, as only forty-five minutes were left in our flight. Both of us mounted the bike and we drove at full speed. Upon reaching the airport, we were greeted by an astonishing sight. People were screaming and running out of the place and we soon figured out why. Gunderson and his men were ordering to blast off everything thing in sight. He himself threatened every living thing with his Mag Vega. “Look!” Kurtis pointed, “Only fifteen minutes to our flight,” he said. I sighed a sigh of relief; at least we’d be getting out of this mess in a matter of minutes.
“But how?” I whispered to him in the ear.
“Stealth,” he calmly responded.
“Oh I will get you this time, Trent and Croft,” I heard Gunderson mutter to himself. ‘In dreams’ I thought. There seemed to be a shop behind our assassin. The window of the shop was shattered to millions of pieces, leaving us a path. All we had to do was get in through the window, and exit through the door inside the shop. Going straight behind Gundy would be too risky. “Read my mind,” I silently whispered to Kurtis and I thought over the plan once again. “But how are we going to get in through the window?” he asked quietly. “A jump would be too risky.” I thought about that.
“Stealth and vault,” I plainly answered. He nodded as an answer and we both bent our backs and began to move on our toes. We vaulted over the window and were in the dark shop. We both sighed a sigh of relief; at least we were halfway through our plan. Kurtis used his telekinetic abilities to open the door soundlessly. We exited from the door and when to the lounge. We each grabbed a drink, and were thankful to get to the airplane as the last passengers. We were given two first class seats, which I couldn’t figure out why. “Where will you sit?” I asked, “Beside the window or the aisle?”
“The aisle, I can’t see anything out of the window,” he answered and took his seat. But I knew why he sat there, because there was also a very beautiful girl beside the aisle. I fastened my seatbelt and went to a peaceful slumber.
When I woke up, daylight was greeting me, which also allowed me to see the view. But first, I glanced at my companion. He was deep in sleep. I knew how fair his skin was, but he looked like an African, the cause of his goatee. He obviously hadn’t shaved and he really needed to now. Me, being decent, love decency. I right now wanted to slap him. I tore a page from my notebook and grabbed his pen. I wrote a short note and put it in his lap. I got up from my seat and charged up. I then slapped him with all my power. He woke with a start, “What was that for!” he almost yelled.
“Read it!” I screamed at the top of my voice then left. On the note was written
Kurtis,
Please go and shave, or I’ll not accompany you. Then I don’t care whatever happens to you. If you do not be clean-shaven in ten minutes, Goodbye forever!
Lara Croft
He seemed to have read the note, as he went to the lavatory with the kit we were given when we stepped in the flight. I really did grab a parachute, put it on and winked to the flight attendant to let her know the drama. He came out, looking as handsome as ever. I smiled and took off the parachute and made my way back to my seat. He seemed to close his eyes, in order to give them a rest. He was exhaling slowly and steadily. I came next to him and occupied my seat. He didn’t seem to notice. I sniffed deeply of his aftershave, the smell I loved so much. I now realized how hard I slapped him. My whole handprint, pink in color on his left cheek. My heart twisted in pain for him. I took some moisturizer from the similar kit I was given and put it softly on his cheek. He winced his pain but didn’t stop me. When I was done, I decided to apologize. “I am sorry,” I quietly said.
“Yes, you can say that and everything will be alright,” he said opening his eyes and looking at me. “No Lara, I don’t even want to look at you,”
My jaw dropped. “But Kurtis,” I said my voice trembling. “You are the last person I know alive. You are my everything, I mean, friend and all that.” Now tears were rolling down my cheeks. He realized what it meant. I buried my face in my hands and cried uncontrollably. I didn’t know what he was gonna do with me, but whatever it was, I deserved it. I was completely spell bounded when he lightly pushed my head on his shoulder and patted me on the back. I hadn’t realized that the drink trolley was here.
“What would you like, sir?” the male attendant asked.
“Coffee,” he answered leaving the embrace.
“Madam?”
“Nothing. Thank you,” I answered. Kurtis sipped his coffee slowly. “So,” he said between sips. “Lady Lara Croft can sometimes become emotional?”
“So,” I answered. “Mr. Kurtis Trent could be such an annoying little brat sometimes, eh?”
“Yeah,”
“Yeah,” I repeated. ‘Could he get any more annoying?’ I thought to myself.
“Maybe,” came the answer from him. I wanted to kill him this time, but kept my hands to myself, or I could’ve strangled the last Lux Veritatis. I then saw the girl opposite Kurtis head towards him. He looked so innocent, as if a baby. The girl’s knuckles were ready, as if to send him to his life after death, in which I believed. I rose from my seat, and grabbed he and threw her to her seat. I got a punch ready and she let out a high-pitched scream. She also started spitting out apologies. “Apology accepted,” I answered. The whole first-class roared with laughter, while I returned to my seat. Just then, the speaker announced to put on our seat belts in order to land. We did so. In an hour, all our stuff settled on Kurtis’ bike, he himself driving at full speed with me behind him. I kept remembering all those who died, with me blamed for their murders. Werner, my mentor, Madame Carvier, Werner’s friend, Bouchard, a Parisian gang boss and Lud****, the reporter. They all helped me in one-way or another, but now were suffering for it. Soon, we were on the Strahov site, or at least whatever was left of it. Only a wall and a manhole remained of the huge complex. We got off the bike and stared at it. “Where is our so-called entrance?” I asked.
“I think you won’t like it,” Kurtis answered, with a grin.
“Just blurt it out,” I said with anger boiling inside me.
“The manhole,” he said proudly. I stared at him, dumb struck.
“THE MANHOLE,” I shouted at him. He seemed taken aback.
“So, what did you expect, a hall to the arena!” he asked sarcastically. “You are forgetting that you fought the baddies underground.”
“Men,” I muttered to myself and started climbing down the ladder of the manhole. Kurtis followed. “Good for nothing,” I also added in the same tone.
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Return of Darkness
Chapter nine:Where is the last Shard?
“Oh come on, men aren’t that bad,” Kurtis said whilst climbing down the ladder.
“Yeah, they’re really bad,” I said.
“No way!”
“Yes way,”
“No!”
“YES,”
“NO!”
“You know, first I just thought it, now I am really sure,”
“What!”
“MEN DON’T LIKE, THEY LOVE TO BARK!” I shouted. “And I speak from experience. Experience I had from you Trent,” I added.
“Whatever,” he dully responded. By that time, we had reached the end. The smelly sewer was over! I congratulated myself. We found ourselves near some boxes, or the entrance. Right in front of us was a piece of smelly rotten corroded meat.
“Eckhardt I suppose,” Kurtis said with pure bitterness.
“Yeah,” I answered.
“I thank you, Lara Croft,” he said seriously.
“Thank me for what?” I asked anxiously.
“Thank you for letting him suffer. First, he killed my mother; I was only born that time. Mixing poison in her glucose bottle while she was unconscious. I was born from operation. Then, my father.” I could see that he had made fists. He was really patient, or I would have shot the rotten meat if I were in his place.
I put a hand on one of his broad shoulder, “Then Von Croy,” I added for him.
But one thing confused me, where was the last shard? There were only two, in what I thought was the abdomen.
“Damn it,” I said to myself and picked the two shards.
“Where is the last?” he asked.
“I donno,” I answered. “It must around here somewhere,” I quickly added with my previous statement. We both began to walk around the metal floor, near the boxes. “We need to find it befo–” I was broken of by a hand. A hand of a lady, I guess, behind a pillar. Both our jaws dropped. Someone was already here! Just then, my guess proved correct. A girl, in her late twenties and mid thirties stood next to the pillar. She was holding the shard in her right hand, “Looking for this?” she asked with a smirk. Then she threw it into the air and then caught it. “Just three questions,” she said. I prayed to God to let her be on the good side, with us.
Disclaimer: I do not own any character from this story, except the girl (this one). I suggest you do not insult her. It took me hours to create her. And if you want to put her in any other story, ask me first.
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
Chapter 10: “A Lux Veritatis?!”
The girl had light tan skin, not only because she was sun burnt, but also because she was from somewhere in the Indian subcontinent. She had large beautiful dark brown eyes, with a stony expression, below about one inch eye lashes. She had jet-black hair, halfway through her back, tied in a French braid. Her beautiful hair almost looked like black threads of silk. She was wearing the outfit similar to mine and Kurtis’, plain black T-shirt above army fatigues. She had shoulder holsters, two, on each shoulder. She was armed with two Scorpion X unlimited stuffed in each holster. Hung from belt and rested on her right hip was a leather knapsack. Across her back was a Viper SMG. On her left side of the waist was a royal blue square shaped weapon. She may not have looked British, but the last two (and the only two) lines she had spoken had a firm British accent, in a deep tone. The smirk still hadn’t left her oval face. “We are no-” I began and took out my Vector R35. Kurtis followed my route, but then, she did a move that dropped our jaws. She lifted her right hand and our weapons left our grasps and hovered above our heads.
“You are going to answer them, no matter what,” she told us calmly, yet firmly.
“No,” Kurtis began.
His own chirugaii now was out of reach, but he WAS telekinetic. He tried to wake his chirugaii, instead it itself tried to attack it’s own owner. His own weapon’s blade slightly touched his neck. I shifted my gaze towards the assassin I thought was. I too, was greeted in the same manner. Her blue square rushed towards me, it’s razor sharp blades sticking out of the four right angles. We both gave up, we were now done for. We both put our hands behind our heads and sat on our knees. “Now,” she said, “Back to business. One: Who are you? Two: State your business here. Three: What do you have to do with the Shards? Tell the truth, because, you know, I have supernatural powers. Start talking.”
“Lara Croft,” I answered.
“Kurtis, (sigh) Konstantine,” he answered. His gaze was set on the ground and mine on him. The girl then spoke softly, “My uncle’s best friend was Konstantine. You are talking about Konstantine Bonvague, right?” she asked.
“Yes,” he responded, “But my father was only friends with the Lux Veritatis initiates!” he added surprisingly.
“He was one. I am one too,” she informed us.
‘What?!”
“You heard me,”
“You? A, a Lux Veritatis?!”
“Yes!”
“I am not the last one after all,” he happily stated.
“Yeah. Me too,” she added. “Please, sorry about that. I thought you were from the Cabal leftovers. Please, do stand up,” she told us with a smile. We complied by obeying her. “By the way, I am Noor Fatima (stretches hand for shake hand) Pleased to meet you.” I didn’t want to give in to this person. She might be Karel in disguise. So, I gently grabbed her right outstretched from her wrist, and turned it to reveal her palm. No Nephilim sign. Thank God. I then shook it. “I thought you were Karel in disguise,” I told her for my weird act. “Yeah, anyone could’ve thought that,” she told me. “You are my sister, you know, according to the-” Kurtis began.
“Yes yes. I know, I know,” she said.
“You know, I could easily have guessed that by looking at your weapon,” I said.
“Shurinken? Oh, yeah,” she said. “You see it all goes with birthstones. My birthstone is a sapphire. It is also, however, connected with the horoscopes. Mine is Virgo. Cancer’s, like Kurtis here have topaz. I don’t know much about this. Only three: Cancer, Virgo and Aquarius.”
“What’s mine?” I quickly asked. I am an Aquarian.
“Lemme think,” she said. “ Yeah! Yours is emerald.”
“So, how is it connected with birthstones?” I asked her.
“Shurinken and Chirugaii are brothers,” she answered to my question. “Now, I wanted to inform you something. Gunderson has become a Nephilim! Karel is bringing on his twin, Nicolas, another Nephilim along too.”
“WHAT?! Kurtis and I exclaimed.
“Yes! What are we gonna. Hey! Wait a second! Kurtis, I need to talk to you privately,” she said. I could’ve guessed that from the ‘hey-I-got-an-idea’ look on her face. Dumbstruck, Kurtis followed her away from me.
Kurtis Narrative (just for the end of this chapter)
Following my so-called sister away from my companion, I whispered to her “What?”
“I was wondering. That, if we, uh, you know, turn her into a Lux Veritatis initiate just for some time,” she said to me in the same volume in which I had talked.
“What for?!” I whispered back.
“Anyone might kill her without her knowledge. Look, I care for her, I don’t care if you do or not. I do not have the touch to be a tomb raider, or a world saver like that. Heck, no! She is the only one. I read she needed revenge from Eckhardt as he killed her mentor, Karel did. She needs justice!”
“Yeah, I know but I also need justice,” I protested.
“If you want her to be killed, make yourself at home. But let me remind you something, I’m not gonna let that happen,” she added bitterly.
“Fine, fine,” I said. “We have to transfer some of our abilities to her, right? But how?”
“Concentration,” she said. “If, we win the fight, we’ll take back our powers. If we don’t, God knows better,” she said.
“I’ll go and talk to her about this,” I said.
“Agreed,” she answered.

Yes i think you are that good. Sure you aren't Dean Koonz or Stephen King yet but the talent is there. So don't sell yourself short. You obviously enjoy writing and I do believe that if you keep doing it, it will take you places
I play The Sims 2 as well and am a member on their site. they have tons of stories written by other players and i've read alot of them. Some have a good plot, Some are just written properly. But the good ones have depth. Its in the way you describe what is going on in the story, you pull a reader into the action, You used this in your story, your use of adverbs and pronouns tells me that you have the basics figured out and only need to be fine tuned.
I don't know if you play the sims but here is a link to their site, if you aren't a registered member (Requires Game) you can still view anything but. you just can't post on the forum. Look in "the exchange" for stories, you may enjoy it
http://thesims2.ea.com/
Talent should be praised, because without praise there is no reason to keep doing it.
To do good in life is one thing
But to share a hidden talent to enrich someone elses life
Is devine.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
Return of Darkness
Chapter 11: The third LV member
Lara’s Narrative:-
Now, my two partners came back for me. Their so-called secret conversation lasted for only about 1.5 minutes. Kurtis wasin the lead, with a stony expression, followed by Noor, who too had the same stony expression. Man, do these LV initiates ever show their feelings on their faces? I thought. Little did I know, I was about to become one of them. Anyway, I soon did found out through Kurtis.
“Lara, I uh and Noor here, decided uh (sigh) to turn you into a Lux Veritatis,” he finally said, but quickly added for my convenience, “Temporarily!”
“Oh” I said calmly, “ And why is that so?”
But this time, Noor spoke, “For your own safety. I know a lot about you, Lara. You’re a skilled determined fighter, but anyone, by that I mean the Nephilim, they can come and attack you! I have heard you’ve had encountered karel before, I don’t know if he had shown you some of his tricks, one of which is the flaming arrow. Much more it is like a fireball, which will follow you wherever you go, you can’t escape it. These could only be handled with telepathy. We both had decided for you, we’d sacrifice half our powers, turn you into a LV member just for the battle between good and evil, and then, get back our powers. This is as simple as that.”
It was quite a decision, it will change my life for a few hours, I really did want to become one of them, telepathy and telekinesis could be another subject to learn, after archaeology. On the other hand, I was a tomb raider. If I get involved more deeply in this LV business, I could never go tomb raiding again! “Excuse me,” I said to both of them and turned away. I walked a few steps, each reminding me of the painful encounter with Set in Egypt. How Werner left me under the rubble of the pyramid, how a helpless teenager survived such a fatal experience. With this thought, tears streamed down my cheeks, reminding of me of my unanswered shouts, reminding me of my hand, broken, still I was pushing and pulling against the debris, reminding me of the lost Lara Croft, whom died under the pyramid. This was the chance, to regain the old Lara. Kurtis and Noor never knew about the Egypt experience, the Nephilim, if they do, at least I will prove myself the old Lara again. I would do it now. The fate of Earth lies in my hand. For the sake of my long dead parents, and Von Croy, I will do it. “I’m in,” I told them finally.
“Good!” Noor said.
Kurtis walked towards me. I wiped off the tears from my face. He cupped my face in his hands and said, “I trust you Lara Croft. Show them what you’re made of!”
“Can’t I show YOU what I am made of?” I asked Kurtis sarcastically.
‘No! I am too young to die.”
“As if.”
“Hell!”
“Heaven!”
“SHUT UP BOTH OF YOU!” Noor shouted. We did. “Karel and Gunderson will come soon and we have so much to do,” she said and glanced at her wristwatch, Black and Swatch. “It’s 8 PM. Shoot! They were to come at 1 AM! Only five hours left. During the time, Lara’ll be unconscious, for five hours. Not a minute to lose. Kurtis, stand in a triangle you too Lara,” Noor instructed. “Okay, now, concentrate really, really hard to get this spell going.”
We just obeyed her, silently; after all she knew what to do. We all stood, concentrated really hard, as instructed so. My eyes were tightly shut, as a sign of concentration. After about four seconds, something touched. It was more like a flying cloud, with light density, but was filled with electricity. Upon touching me, I felt very hot. I could feel the Light of Truth coming out of me, more like a stencil. The shock was unbearable, as if five thousand volts were in me. Every cell in my body was charged so much like a laptop battery. I could bear it no longer. A high-pitched scream left my mouth, followed by a few painful grunts. “What the hell is happening to her?” I heard Kurtis shout. The answer I couldn’t remember was because almost at the same moment, the shock left me, with a ring in my left ring finger and a strange shape with blades in my right hand. After that, I passed out.
When I recovered, a lot of minutes later, I was in someone’s lap, my head was. My eyes opened, slowly adjusting to the view. I found out that my head was in Kurtis’ lap. The feeling I had that time, I had never felt it before. It was like; I was full for anything, and energetic. Every cell in my body was charged with the Light of Truth.
“What happened?” I asked both of them, Noor seemed to bring me some water.
She replied to my question with another one.
“How are you feeling,” she said then Kurtis joined her. “The third LV member?”
‘So, you were successful. Congrats Lara’ a voice inside my head said. “Fine,” I answered. I looked at my new weapon. I gaped at its beauty. That sure was the thing I wanted to keep in my treasure room. It was a triangle. Its borders were made of emerald. Five huge wholes were in the middle, for my fingers, to hold the weapon in. On the three of the equal corners was a razor a sharp blade. I would even see my own reflection in the deadly thing. “Wow,” I gasped.
“Wow is right,” Noor said.
“Yeah,” Trent said.
“And I actually own it?” I asked.
“For now.”
“Wow again.”
“Just like you said, Noor. It is connected with birthstones. I have the topaz, you sapphire, and she… It’s just so beautiful!” He again said.
“Yeah,” she answered. “I never knew I had that kind of power.”
“Me neither.”
“What’s the time?” I suddenly asked.
“SHOOT!” both my companions exclaimed.
“Hurry up,” I said. “Got a plan?”
“Yeah, but not so good,” Noor answered.
“No problem just tell us!” Trent almost shouted.
“Alright chill out!” she shot back angrily. Now, in the beautiful, and deep dark brown abyss in her eyes, was filled with anger. And that, made the hair at the back of my neck stand up. Kurtis was angry too, but in his eyes was a weird flame, that sent shivers down my spine. Talk about emotions in eyes. I thought to myself. They both seemed to have read my mind, because they were staring at me with their, well, dangerous eyes, but said nothing.
“See those boxes over there,” Noor said and pointed to the few boxed near the entrance.
“Yeah.”
“Me and him will hide behind them. Each of us will carry a Shard. Lara, you are supposed to stand in the battle arena. Next, quickly stab Karel, we’ll knock out Gunderson and the other pathetic Nephilim. Ok? Then, you know a Nephilim screams real hard when it is stabbed. I hope you know.”
“I do,” I told her.
“When will it come back to it’s senses, Kurtis will come and throw you the shard, followed by me. When he’s done, just slice of his heart, give the shards to me,” Kurtis seemed a little unsettled with that last sentence, but she told him coolly “It’s always ladies first, Trent. You know that.”
“Yeah.”
“Then his turn and we’ll get rid of them for good. Got it?”
“Yes” both of us, said.
“Good luck to everyone here. It is more harder than it seems,” she said. Then, we all heard something. Some noises. Men. Talking. We all knew who they were.
“That’s our train!” Kurtis exclaimed.
“True,” Noor said. “Lara stay there. When they’ll come, I’ll instruct you in mind” and then she threw me the last Shard.
‘Good Luck!’ said Noor’s voice and Kurtis’ too.
‘Thanks’
But our train arrived a little too quickly. Noor and Kurtis had jumped behind the boxes in the nick of time. The Nephilim entered. Karel in the lead. “Still alive, Ms.Croft?” he coldly asked, “I was expecting you dead.”
“Dead?!” I laughed coolly. “Before you idiotic Nephilim, never!”
“You think so? Well, you humans are so pathetic. Use your head-”
“If I do, you’ll lose yours, which you will soon. Bye Bye”
“Now now missy” Gunderson said dangerously.
I saw my two partners just behind their prey, guns raised, in order to knock out. Karel came closer to me. ‘Now!’ Noor’s voice boomed into my head. I didn’t waste a second and thrust the Shard in Karel’s abdomen.
I am done now. I'll write another soon. It cost me alot u know. My computer (P3) had a lot of problems, half of this was written vut the internet instroduced me to a new problem. I wrote ALL this in my laptop (P2 even duller) now, it's 1 40 a.m here, better get some sleep. Read on, no more waiting. *Gulps down a sup of coffee*

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
Return of Darkness
Chapter 12: The Battle
A high pitched scream left his mouth, the cause of covering our ears with our hands. A loud Thump came from behind Karel, and that was a sign that my friends were successful in knocking out their victims. I smiled and walked towards them. “Nice one,” I said to both of them. They both shot me arrogant smirks, but Noor’s was suddenly taken over by a look of horror. “Lara! Behind you!” she warned. I was very late to react. A bullet pierced through my right thigh. “Aargh!” I grunted and fell on my knees. Noor quickly jumped over me and kicked hard on his face. He fell down on his back, and stayed there for a second. Kurtis, during this time, picked me up in his arms and carried me towards the boxes. He laid me down, carefully and quietly. I then, leaned against the boxes, panting all over. The bullet seemed to be from a Uzi. I winced in pain from time to time. The pain was unbearable, but still I kept my mouth shut. Kurtis left me in a hurry. Noor put a booted foot on Karel’s chest then bent down and stabbed him with the second shard. He rose from the air; Noor got hold of his jacket and went up too. While the Light of Truth burned him from inside, Noor clung onto him like a bat from the ceiling. The light vanished. He came back to his senses. “Stupid mortal!” he hissed upon seeing her.
“Look at your own self, Karel, before seeing others, or if you are proud to do that, then IDIOTIC NEPHILIM!” she spat angrily, the beautiful abyss in her eyes filling with anger once more.
And jumped from him, and caught hold of a railing, or which was once a railing. All that was left was about two metres of the catwalk and a fat steel rod a few inches away from the catwalk. She grabbed the broken railing with one hand, while emptied a few rounds of Scorpion X into Karel’s back with the other. That was awesome to distract him for a while, but also a waste of ammo. He just turned around, looked at his back, and then telepathically healed himself. Noor growled angrily at this. Swinging herself expertly to the catwalk, Noor could see another danger from down below. I was the closest target, but I cannot be seen, I was leaning against the other box. Gunderson was returning to his senses. Kurtis noticed it too. ‘Don’t worry, I’ll take care of him!’ she told me telepathically, and Kurtis as well, as he then nodded at her direction. Gunderson meanwhile, shook his head a bit. Kurtis, was now threatening Karel with the last Shard. At that moment, both men were going around in circles. But, my eyes were set on my female friend. She stood with her legs wide open, then closing her eyes; she formed a cross with her fists, putting them on both sides of her waist. When she opened her eyes, there was no eyeball left. Then, a blue light left her and went into the huge form of Gunderson. He, looked up and saw it coming towards him, the light, but was too late to stop it. He had grabbed his Uzi, not used it. Like a lunatic, he looked at it, then with the butt of the gun, he hit himself quite hard and that, about five times! After collapsing to the floor, the same blue light went back to the owner, who shook her head to get her vision back. After sighing, both me and Noor at the same time, we set our eyes on Karel. Kurtis then yelled at him “ THIS IS OVER, KAREL! THERE IS QUITE A NUMBER OF MURDERS YOU’VE COMMITTED.”
“Mortal!” he hissed dangerously. Noor then climbed down a ladder, which she had discovered, then performed a safety drop, and landing next to Kurtis with a soft grunt. Nodding to him, she walked lazily to Karel, who was too weak to do anything, and grabbed his hands and put them tightly behind him. “Bring it on, Trent,” she said loudly to him.
Anger boiled inside Kurtis and me. He read my mind, then walked towards me, and made me stand up. With his help, I managed to limp forward, till I could walk alone. He was behind me, still the shard in his hand. I limped towards Karel, then with a strong force, all that I could manage, punched him hard in his left cheekbone. “That was for Von Croy, Joachim, who was my mentor, almost a father. Your turn Noor, Kurtis, get in Noor’s position!” I commanded. I was obeyed. My orders were carried out silently. Kurtis grabbed Karel’s wrists, holding the shard in his mouth. Noor came, sparks rising in her eyes’ deep brown abyss. Her clenched fists would do a lot of damage, even greater than mine, because her knuckles had a strange thing. They were like mine, of course, but it gave me a kind of feeling that she was trained in fighting. ‘Martial arts: Karate or Kung fu’ were my first thoughts about that. Then, with all her power, she punched his chest. “My uncle, Karel, who you killed mercilessly. He was the one to tell me of who I really am, he trained me, an angel told him about his magical powers and me as well. An angel which came in his dreams. Much more, he was like a father to me. A father,” then she kicked his right shoulder, which caused Kurtis to hold back. Then, as quietly as ever, she took his position, and he hers. Kurtis grabbed Karel by his collar, pulling him forward. Karel’s state was quite disgusting. He took on his true form, with weird shapes all over his grey form. Stone grey eyes turning black. Just after that, he transformed himself into a man with dark brown hair, like the male initiate. The eyes were a soft comforting brown colour. White streaks of hair, were placed after every fifteenth strand of black hair. This was Kurtis’ father. Water filled both their eyes. “I trained my own son, so once I could see this day?” Konstantine asked innocently.
“You’re not my father,” Kurtis said bitterly, “He died long ago, WITH YOUR OWN HANDS!” he yelled then thrust the Shard in his stomach. Konstantine yelled in agony, or should I say Karel. He was still in under the mask. He took a few steps back, During which I proceeded forward, trallo in my hand ready. Kurtis fell down on his knees, as tears flooded his eyes. Noor rushed to him, giving me a 'thumbs' up sign on the way. Letting out a warrior like scream, I sliced off his chest. Meanwhile, Kurtis was trembling; Noor had her hands on his shoulders, shaking them, so he would be strong once more. “Kurtis, heck be yourself. That was not your father, just a transformation. JUST a transformation to make you a fool!” Noor consoled. Tears trickled down his shaved cheek. “But … But,” he stammered.
“I know, he just looked like him, he wasn’t your father.”
“I know, but will my father be angry for what… I… did? Killing… his ...own,” then more tears slid down.
“No, Kurtis. He will be so proud of you, you know. For how brave you were, to kill the form of someone you dearly loved.”
“Would he?” Kurtis asked like a kid whilst sobbing.
“Yes, your mom too. She gave birth to such a brave, but emotional child. You, I guess, wanted to make your parents proud of you, right?” she asked softly.
Trent nodded.
“You are successful. I just know it. Lemme share my secret too.”
“Yes,” he said. He had stopped sobbing, and crying, but those actions had left him with bloodshot eyes.
Noor moved and whispered in his ear, “ I am just like you. Brave, yet so emotional.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, and I made it my strength, not weakness,” she told him.
Just then, a sickening sound interrupted the sister/brother. They went to see me, finally. The most disgusting things I did to kill my mentor’s murderer, I cannot describe, but those horrid actions were repeated on Nicolas and Gunderson. Though, it was very shocking for all three of us, that no blood came out of the Nephilims wounds.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The time for us to transform back came, but I was too stubborn to let them take my powers back. After a lot of arguing, I agreed. The process was not at all painful, but I felt weak after I became a normal human being once more. After dividing the three Shards between us three, we went to have some coffee in Star Bucks.

Return of Darkness
Chapter 13: Farewell
“So, where are you from?” Kurtis asked as he mixed sugar in his coffee.
“Pakistan,” she quietly answered, but boldly.
Then, a thought struck me, “When you punched Karel, you mentioned something about an angel, so, what was it, I mean, what actually happened?” I questioned, “If you don’t mind.”
“No, of course not. You see, my uncle, my father’s younger brother, he was an initiate. My whole family is, but you see, only and only two were supposed to be the true ones. One night, an angel came in his dream and told him about his powers. Them explained me to him: His elder brother’s second and only child. When I was born, three years after that, he started training me. Just before Karel killed of Konstantine, my uncle stood in front of him, as if guarding his best friend. But the spear straight went through him, instead of Konstantine. Soon after that, he too was killed,” Noor explained.
“Oh, Thank you,” Kurtis said.
“Don’t mention it,” she replied.
Then, she opened up her mobile phone, Nokia 9300, the laptop one. She opened it. “A friend of mine was gonna e-mail me the time of my flight,” then she got engaged with her phone. “Yes, Zara seemed to have done her job. Zara Khan, my best friend. Believe me, I have known her since I was in Grade Two.”
“Two!” I exclaimed.
“Yeah.”
“That’s some strong friendship you have.”
“True, I was the most talkative girl in my class. I always ate her head up with my conversations. Those days I remember very clearly (sigh), those problem and Nephilim-free days. Anyway, my flight leaves in four hours. That’s enough time for me to pack my stuff and go to the airport.” And rose up from her seat, taking the last sip of her coffee. “You’re going?” Kurtis sheepishly asked.
“Yes,” she calmly answered.
“Can I have you contact number?” I asked her.
“Sure!” she said and gave Kurtis and me her card.
“Noor Fatima Iftikhar” he asked.
“Full name,” she smiled, “Yours?”
“Oh yeah.” Soon within ten minutes, we had each other contact numbers.
“I should be going now,” Noor reminded us.
“Oh, shut up and tell me one thing, sis,” Kurtis said as he grabbed her wrist.
“What?” she asked.
“What’s your age?”
“26.”
“What!” both Kurt and I exclaimed.
“Yeah, 26 is my age, will be 27 this year,” she casually told us.
“But, your height!” he pointed out.
“I am the daughter of a tall father and a tall mother. It’s in my genes, to be tall,” she calmly responded.
“Oh,” I realized. I did not mention her height. She was almost 5 feet and 10 inches. With all her slim body in place, she looked extremely smart. “Okay I have to go now.”
“Bye,” I said and hugged her lightly.
Kurtis grinned like crazy, his arms opened, as if wanting a hug. He moved forward, but Noor grabbed his hand and shook it tightly.
“I always keep my distance,” she smiled.
“Okay,” I heard him mutter.
“Good bye, I sure will remember, meeting the famous Lara Croft, and the last MALE initiate, Kurtis Trent. Any adventure, I’ll contact you immediately.” She said and left us.
“I hope to cross paths with you again sometime, Noor,” I heard Trent mutter.
“Me too,” I said with a sigh. “Me too.”
“Lara, shouldn’t you be going off to your Croft Manor right now?” he asked.
“I am not going to move an inch without you.”
“You have some kind of feelings for me?” he asked dis-believingly.
“Come now,” I whispered, “You are making a fool of yourself here.”
“Oh, sorry,” he admitted.
After getting out of the café he said “Now, answer?” he folded his arms and tapped his foot impatiently.
“Heck, no! Just being a good friend, that’s all.”
“Thank God, I thought a leech was stuck on my leg,” he said sarcastically.
“I thought the same,” I said. “You are coming with me young man, to my house.”
“But-“
“No buts! You are and that’s final,” I said and ended the argument.
“Okay, your choice. Hey there’s Noor!”
And there she was, hailing a cab. “NOOR!” I yelled. She saw me.
“Yes?”
“We wanna come with you.” Kurtis said for me.
“Ok, get in the cab.”
“But what about my bike?” he complained loudly.
An idea struck me, “You get your bike and reach the airport. Noor and I will come there in an hour,” I said.
Before going, Trent and I last met Noor at the airport. After giving a lazy salute, she departed for her journey. She looked like a complete formal and decent person, after changing out from her combats and into an expensive business suit, with long trousers and her high heels tapped loudly on the marble floor. The last thing she said to us was “Any tomb that needs raiding and any demon that needs hunting, I’ll immediately contact you both, only if you answer. Always remember this friend of yours.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day, I got the tickets for our flight. The time was the most surprising, 3 A.M. We reached the airport at midnight. After three painful hours, we were sitting side to side. Each of us staring at each other, both remembering the events in Prague, and most of all, recalling the one kind-hearted, but tough Noor Fatima Iftikhar.

Chapter 14: Return Home
“Remembering Noor?” I asked him.
“Yeah,” he replied, and sighed heavily. “Y’know Lara. She was that kind of girl; well she resembled me a lot, emotionally. I could guess from her tone that she was very experienced. She had been through experiences, tough ones. That’s why maybe, she was consoling me, even though I am older than she is,” he told me.
“Really?” I asked. I was quite shocked.
“Yeah, and she was very depressed herself in such a way. When I looked into her eyes. I don’t know if you have noticed, but they are like staring into a deep brown abyss, right?”
“Exactly! And when she’s angry, sparks seemed to fly out of that. Or, that’s what I think.”
“True. But when she was comforting me, she had some kind of sorrow there: Inside that abyss. It made me think that I was an amateur in front of her experiences. Like, this was nothing.” He sounded sad.
“No, she would never think like that,” I said in my trademark comforting tone. “From what I think, she just felt sorry for you. I mean, she MUST have experienced many blues in her life too, every person’s depression is more than anything else to him/her. Like I did when I faced Set in Eg-” I quickly shut off my mouth: I almost gave away my secret. But, he did see what I tried to say.
“Set? What’s that?” he inquired.
“Oh, nothing. Never mind,” I quickly said, making a mistake of thinking I as a quick recovery.
“No, Lara. You must tell me!” he sounded very confident.
“It’s personal,” I said, and listened to the pilot announcing take-off, in Czech and French. I fastened my seat belt, and so did my companion. But, from his facial expressions, I could easily gather that he had not been shut up so using just one SINGLE sentence.
When the plane was streamlining peacefully in the air, Kurtis turned to me. “I thought I asked you something!” he said impatiently.
“What! Look here, buddy. I got one personal life. What do you have to do with it? Huh? I am minding my own business, and you do yours. Okay?” I told him fiercely.
He grabbed my forearm and made me face him. His lips were curved into an angry frown and his eyes scared the hell out of me. “NOW!” he said dangerously.
No, I cannot win from him. He was too stubborn, damn it! But, I AM a professional in getting his own personal life out of his own mouth. Later, I can tell him mine. At least, it would give me time to get my experience into proper words.
“On one condition,” I said to him. “Do you agree, whatever it is?”
“Yeah, yeah. Fine.”
This made my goal even easier. “Tell me about your life. A brief note about it. And I promise I will tell you mine. And, you agreed to this condition.”
He sighed slowly. His eyes calming once more, and his head fell down to his chest, as he stared into nothing. The stewardess, who had been eyeing him with great interest, rushed forward. “Sir? Are you alright?” she asked worriedly.
Ugh! Kurtis got himself a real caring nurse. Simply GREAT! I rolled my eyes. “He’s fine. I am here with him. You can go now,” I told her.
She nodded and silently left, with a sad expression on her face.
“We got a deal,” I reminded him, and he began his life story.
“My father Konstantine started training me since I was three. He knew I was just a weak offspring, I can’t move objects like hammers at the age of three. But he still didn’t care. At first, I liked it a lot. Playing with things without touching them. It was really fun. Then, I was sent to Martial Arts Academy. From there, I mastered the ‘chatkha’ style of Karate. It is a rule for every initiate to master a Karate branch. At about the age of sixteen, my father asked me to face an illusion. It was ONLY an illusion, but I was never told that. It- It,” he began to stammer.
“What happened?” I softly asked.
“The illusion, was of none other, than my…. Mother,” he finally said after a moment’s hesitance.
I gasped. This WAS truly too much.
“She was there, in an armchair, knitting something. I never really saw her, and, she was of about the age in which she had died. Not even ONE DAY OLDER! Sh- She saw me. A-And called me,” he started a bit shaking, and his voice dropped into a whisper.
“She called me and when she saw the sword in my hand, she said those lines. Those particular lines, which the illusion of my father had used. Back there, in the battle,” he stopped talking for a moment. ONLY a moment, however.
“I was supposed to cut her head off her shoulders. Like, I did with Boaz. But, instead of my chirugaii, I was handed a sword. It made my goal even more difficult. I remember clearly. After saying “I love you, Mother,” I swung the sword hard and cut off her head. I had closed my eyes for that. I could have died myself, not letting anything happen to her. I stayed in the state of depression for more than two years. That was the final stage of my training. I ran away from home. This, Lara, is the worst thing that ever happened to me,” and he closed his eyes as he leaned back against the seat.
I looked at him with sorrow quite prominent on my face. “Wanna know mine?” I asked. I had now gained the courage to speak to him, after all.
“Gimme a few secs,” he muttered. I knew he was trying his very best to keep tears from falling. I had done that too, and find it the best camouflage to hide tears, with fears.
“Mine, was even worse. For me, anyway.” I said.
“It is a sad time now, isn’t it?” he asked.
“Yeah.”
He seemed to have regained his soul once more. “Yours?”
“I was buried, alive,” ‘yeah that’s it. Keep it real short Lara’ I thought.
“Alive? Where? How? And what’s Set got to do with it?”
“I and Werner, were supposed to find an amulet. The Amulet of Horus. Accidentally, I let loose Set, the evil-Egyptian god. And, I had to trap him again. By the end of my adventure, I was almost successful. I trapped him in the pyramid from which he belonged to. The pyramid began to fall.”
“What about Werner? What was he doing?”
“I am coming to that. He tried to get my hand, but his own life meant more to him. He left me in the depths of darkness. I called out, but my shouts were unanswered. I broke my ankle, still I was digging like mad. Pushing against the heavy debris to find my way out. I DUG my way out. It was long; my way. I finally did. The nearest tribe helped me heal. And when I returned to Croft Manor, there was a statue of me, with my guns and backpack and ammunition or simply everything. I even had those clothes on in which I was buried alive in. There was Winston, MY Winston. Crying his heart out, sobbing like mad,” I thanked God that my voice didn’t stammer or tremble one bit: I talked boldly.
“Who’s Winston? Your boyfri-“
“He WAS my butler. He died at the age of 83. That, because when he got to see in the news that I am responsible for Von Croy’s death.”
“Oh, I see. I am sorry, for your butler’s death and your experience too. I shouldn’t have. Oh, I shouldn’t have. Damn, I am such a heck of a stupid person. I now realize how much.”
“Hey, don’t take it like that. It’s okay. You suffered too. So did I. Now let’s forget it, and tell me. I have a number of new butlers waiting for me. Who should I pick? Male or female. Remember, they ARE aged.”
“Umm, Male sounds good. At least someone will know my feelings.”
“Like me?”
“Yeah, someone apart from you.”
The pilot then announced landing, and telling us to fasten our seatbelts.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After about one and a half , we both were standing outside Heathrow airport, in London. I walked towards my black Mercedes and insisted on driving. But, there was a problem. Kurtis’ bike. Later, we agreed that he should follow me on his bike, and I should lead the way.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a long time, we were standing at the gates of my house. Wind was blowing on our faces. Light fragments of spring were being prominent. Water was pouring out of my horse’s fountain. The hedges were only a little overgrown. My statue, thought to be my grave, was looking very dark. Only, one thing was added extra to this scenery: Far in the corner, stuck out from the grass was a tombstone. With abbreviations quite readable from far, far way: Rest In Peace. The thought made me cry that my Winston was buried inside that earth. Not being there to greet me. Not being there to scold me a little. Not being there to console me. He had been working here since before I was born. Now, he didn’t live to see me with a friend apart from him. My hand rested on the number pad. It was easy to put in a code that I had learnt by heart. But it would bring back painful memories of him. Kurtis put a comforting arm around my shoulders. I literally fell down to the ground, clutching the raven-colored iron bars of the main gate. Tears flooded my eyes, and rolled down silently, without having me to even blink. They fell like raindrops from the sky. Falling toward home silently. “Gather yourself, Lara,” Kurtis said as he stared at me. “It’s the first time I am crying in front of someone, except Winston,” I said. The tears doubled in number and flowed down flawlessly. Kurtis then gave me a little hug. “Whatever happens, I will be always here for you. Always.” He said. “Now let’s go and eat, okay? I am famished!” I nodded my head. Then typed in the code and the metal gates swung open, making a way for us to enter. “You go. Kitchen before the conference room. Just go straight ahead, the left room,” I told him.
“What about you?” he asked.
“I’ll come in a jiffy. I need to talk to Winston. Even though he’s dead, he’ll always be alive for me, in my heart. Give me a few minutes alone, please.”
“Yes, of course.” He said and walked away.
I walked towards the stone. I was too confused to say anything, but I began with what I would if he were alive. “Hello, Winston. I am quite disappointed. You left me, alone. You DO resemble Werner. But Winston, I didn’t kill him. It was a psychopath called Pieter Van Eckhardt. He was involved with Mafia. Thinking he can bring the hybrid offspring of angels and women back to life. Yeah, the Nephilim. He was too stupid,” I knew I felt like a child, but at least I was alone. “I brought along a new friend with me here. His name is Kurtis Trent, and Winston, you know that Eckhardt killed his OWN parents. He is a Lux Veritatis, and I went back to Prague and kill the Nephilim for one and for all.” And I told the grave the whole story, amidst sobs and tears. When my conversation was finished, I went to the kitchen and saw Kurtis making some dinner for both of us. Even though he was as exhausted as I was, he didn’t care. On the table were the complete items to make a proper Pasta. “I thought you’ll like it,” he said and smiled warmly. I couldn’t help being happy when Kurtis was. He.. Well, had THE POWER to cheer people up. I sat on the table, and gave him a watery smile. I was GLAD that I had a friend after my oldest one left me. “Will you hurry up, please? I am dying of hunger,” I complained to him. “And here’s an apron if you need one, Mommy!” Sarcasm dripping from my tone. He shot me a surprised look, then an angry one. “WHY YOU!” he exclaimed as he stood there in full fury mode. I flashed him a teasing smile and he shook his head and continued boiling the pasta at a suitable temperature.

Chapter 15: Training again and meeting Julian
“Training!” Kurtis said in disbelief.
“Yes! Look at you now,” I argued.
“But I am still fit. Look!” he said and moved in a circle. “As good as new!”
“Yeah, real good. Now time 5 AM. If you don’t get up, then you’re DOOOMED!” I threatened.
“Oh yeah?” he asked angrily. “How?”
“Just wait and watch,” I spat.
After a few moments of us staring at each other with dangerous eyes, I ended the ordeal by saying “Your room next to mine. Up the stairs, take the left and the first room. In the same wing as mine,” and left him near the indoor gym and to my comfortable bed. I am pretty sure I heard him sigh as I reached the foot of the stairs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next morning, as I expected, Kurtis was still in his bed. His loud snores could not prevent me from doing what I had to, but I started off pleasantly.
“Kurtis, c’mon, wake up. It’s 5AM, time to train,” I said shaking his shoulder.
“Wha-” the man grumbled.
“Wake up now, already!” I said with patience.
“Five more minutes, please,” he answered.
As an answer to his request I let him sleep, but after fifteen seconds, I woke him up again.
I gave him a cold shower right where he was, in his bed. He quietly went to change in the bathroom after seeing me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Half an hour later, we were walking towards my assault course. “That’s some place you got here, Croft,” he said as we turned around twice a corner.
“What my father left me after dying,” I answered normally.
“I am sorry,” he muttered.
“Don’t be. Well, here is it. Welcome to the Assault Course.”
“You must be… YOU PRACTISE HERE!”
“Yeah,” I shrugged. “Okay, let’s see if you can beat me. I’ll go first. Take the stop watch (I give it to him) and follow me, okay?”
“Okay.”
I went to the ‘starting box’ that I called, and bent down on my knees.
“All set!” I called out.
“GO!”
I ran, I jumped, I grabbed, I slid, I climbed, I swung, I swam, I crawled and shot, I somersaulted in the air and sprinted to the finish line under a record of maximum 3:41 minutes.
“Beat this,” I called to my comrade after he had stopped praising my speed. He then later ended a whole and half minute late. Then I realized, my worse days were yet to come.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After two exhausting hours, till he was only three seconds away from my record. I called it off and told him to take a fifteen-minute break. Kurtis drank glasses of glucose drinks and energy boosters. I had noted now that he should eat more too. My morning routine had sucked every muscle out of him. But on the bright side, he looked taller and smarter.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
We practiced one and a half hour on the indoor gym. Kurtis had incredible jumping techniques. He went on swinging and jumping perfectly. His sprint and somersault were appreciated too. But after seeing his panting, I easily gathered that he had a small lung capacity, and I had to increase that.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
At 9AM, I took him to the swimming pool.
“We are swimming?”
“Kind of. I need to check your lung capacity,” I told him.
“I hope you don’t get disappointed,” he said.
“We’ll see. First, check mine.”
“Fine.”
Thank God I had kept up my record of 5:46 minutes. But Kurtis needed serious help. He could only keep up till almost 4 minutes. After 50 minutes, he broke my record by one second! He practiced a few strokes and we were done with our training of 5 hours flat. His energy drink gave him enough energy to prepare a perfect lunch while I select a suitable butler. At the end, the last one called Julian seemed the most trustable. He would start coming from tomorrow morning. Kurtis met him and gave his suggestion that he was the best among the rest.
Julian was a man that resembled Winston a lot: Same gray eyes and wrinkled smile. Same height, same scent and same voice, and I hoped same truthful soul. He just suited in perfectly. I prayed that my shooting plain in the assault course doesn’t frighten him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day, I took Julian around the house and showed him some of my practicing grounds. I didn’t take him to my treasure room, no one was allowed there but me, or the aquarium basement. He was not too quick. But I took around Kurtis to both the places restricted for the butler. At the back of the diving board in my swimming pool was a switch to open a place for a hidden lever. As we rushed to the timed door after throwing down the lever, the hidden lever place closed down, as I made the system. Kurtis took our Periapt Shards and placed them in an empty tank. They floated in gracefully like the Iris in another case. “Wow, you got these things by exploring,” Kurtis gasped then turned to me, “Didn’t you get hurt, I mean: these things must be heavily protected by their ancestors or whatever. Lara, is this what you did all your life?”
“Yes.”
“Are these your prized possessions in which I read about in the news paper?”
“You read?”
“Yes, when I saw you in the Café Metro.”
“Yes, these are it.”
Then he put his hands on my shoulders, “Don’t you get tired whit this? Don’t you want to settle down for once and for all?”
“Kurtis! This is my life. Tomb Raiding. I have reputation out there. I just CAN’T leave it. This is my thirst, my addiction. And your point about settling, then look here. I also can’t do that.”
“Why?”
“You are too curious, Kurtis.”
“This is my habit. I can’t change it. Why not, Lara?”
“Because I don’t want to.”
“I don’t think so. C’mon tell me.”
“Look Kurtis, I just hope you get my point. I don’t have a belief in this stupid love and marriages. I don’t have time. I give others a second chance to live, true. But, well- I hope you understand.”
He removed his hands, “I do now.” And we exited from the room and went towards the library. “Why is this book not in place?” he pointed towards the upside down book. “Shall I?”
“Oh for a surprise, go ahead,” I smirked. He did so and the fire went out, revealing a climbable wall. “What the heck?”
“Follow me,” and I began to climb it. We, after reaching the end, stood up to out feet. Then I ran and jumped a space, pushed a box and climbed on the top and signaled Trent to do the same. “Where are you taking us?”
“Basement,” I replied.
“What! We climb the roof to go to the basement!”
“Yes!”
“That’s so weird.”
“Just watch.” I pushed a box to reveal the attic and raced down it’s stairs and threw open the exit door. After returning to Kurtis, I faced a lever at the end of the passage. “Get ready for a race,” I whispered to him. And pulled it. “12 seconds, Ms. Croft. 11, 10…” I rolled and both of us sprinted down, with me in the lead. When it came to the main stairs, I jumped off the railing and performed a somersault in the air. When I landed, I was directly facing the opened door and rushed in. The computerized voice continued “5,4,3 (Kurtis enters),2, 1.” And the door closes. “Okay,” Kurtis began amused. “I’ve been in normal houses, and normal houses are NOT like this.”
“Yeah. For a stranger like you this is ‘extraordinary’,” I returned.
“I am not a stranger to you anymore, Croft. I work with you,” he spat angrily.
“Oh, friends stay not ‘work’. And you are not a stranger to me, but this house dumb-head! Now see a wonderful sight.”
I knew the day had too many discoveries for him. After turning around a box, he saw the world’s biggest (for him) aquarium. The place contained colorful, exotic and harmless fishes, of almost all colors. ‘Thank God no sharks’ he thought. I went and checked the racecourse key was there, and it was. “Now just wait here,” I ordered. After climbing the nearby box and diving in the cool water, I swam about as Kurtis waved to me. Then I picked up the key and gave him a lazy salute. Dripping wet, I got out and went to the race-track, which he had failed to notice. “What’s in there?” he asked. “I assure you, NOT Boaz,” I replied in a sarcastic tone. I opened the door and viola! My personal race-cars. Instead of one, another one stood there, a blue colored one. He got in and started it. “A challenge-”
“Accepted,” and I handed him a helmet. Another computerized voice said, “GO!” and we raced like mad. In the end, unfortunately, he won. He stuck out his tongue at me like a child. “You know, I still got the habit of winning, Kurtis dearest. I just gave you one chance,” I mocked.
“Whatever.” Julian found me and said in his deep voice, “Miss Croft, I’ve been looking all over for you. I have to tell you something. You had a phone call,” he informed.
“By who?”
“A lady called, uh, what was her name (scratched the back of his head). Something with ‘N’, um… Nora, or Nori.”
“Noor!” I blurted out excitedly.
“Yeah. Um… Noor Fatima something like that.”
“Yes! Kurtis she called! Julian, she is a very good friend of mine. I met her a few days back. What did she say?”
“She told me to tell you to call her back. I thought she was someone important, so I brought the cod-less phone along too.”
“Thanks,” and typed in her mobile number that I had learned. “You can go now, Julian,” I whispered to him.
“Hello?” A voice said, NOT belonging to Noor’s.
“Uh, hello. Can I talk to Ms. Noor Fatima.”
“Oh I am sorry, this is her sister Amna, and you are?”
“Lara Croft.”
“Lara, she won’t be here till two weeks. She has gone to Japan. She just got on her flight. She’ll call us and tell her phone number there. I will later inform you.”
“Oh please tell her from there to call me.
Okay. Thanks, bye.”
“Goodbye.”
“Well?” Kurtis asked demandingly. “She has gone to Japan. Won’t come till two weeks. She’s on the plane. Will tell her family her new phone number when she lands.”
“God, that woman really knows her work,” he sighed.
“Yes, c’mon, I can do for some soda,” I told him.
“Me too,” and we walked together discussing what the matter might be that Noor called us so unexpectedly.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
Return of Darkness
Chapter 16: Epilogue
15th December, 2004. Croft Manor
I guess her sister forgot to tell about my phone call to Noor. Two weeks passed on slowly as I waited for one damned phone call. Just as I was in my indoor gym, Julian came and handed me my cell. I saw a name I knew so well in bold letters, and the call was accepted. Kurtis nearby jumped by my side as I ordered Julian to make dinner. As he left, I switched the phone to loud speaker and we both heard the last of the Lux Veritatis. “Hello?”
“Hi, Noor. How are you?”
“Oh fine. You?”
“We are fine.” Kurtis said for me.
“Cool, I can talk to you both at a time now. I needed to tell you something.”
“First, why didn’t you call us?”
“You were somewhere in your own home.”
“Didn’t your sister tell you?”
“No. Anyway, she herself is a bit forgetful. Sorry.”
“Oh, no problem. You wanted to tell us something,” I continued.
“Yes. An archaeologist friend of mine, Dr. Ayesha, who pretty well knows of my interest in archaeology, told me about a case. I need you both here, well you can come after Christmas if you want to.”
“What’s it about?”
“You should know it well, (A/N: Yes, I AM giving you a hint of the next story) temples, books, spells and the undead.”
“C’mon, put in proper words,” cried Kurtis skipping from an excited to a hyper mood.
“You have to visit me and find out. It has definitely NOTHING to so with Eckhardt and Karel or the Nephilim. A fresh new journey. I have to go now. It’s time for my office.”
“Okay, we’ll call you and let you know when we’ll have a plan to come.”
“Please do. From what I know about you, you are gonna love this.”
“Okay, take care,” I said.
“You both too. Goodbye, and don’t forget to ring me up if you have any plans. I am ready for it.”
“Okay. Thanks for the info.” Trent ended and I hung up.
“So, you ready?” he asked after a few moments.
“I would never let this chance go. I am.”
THE END
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A good ending I suppose. I left it with a cliffhanger too, so please let me know how was this whole story, overall. Reviews are accepted, and e-mails too. You will have to read my this story again, or remember the following points for the next story: -
1) Noor Fatima Iftikhar is the last of the Lux Veritatis. She is a girl.
2) Winston is DEAD! Cabal is DEAD! Karel and Gunderson and Nicolas (Karel’s brother) are DEAD!
3) Julian is another butler in place of Winston
And that’s about it. A big thanks to Mum and White Metal who reviewed the most chapters of mine.
All others, THANKS!
The next story will be up shortly.

Back with my stories, pasting a very hit work of mine, appreciated by ff.net members. Hope it goes as long way as it did over there here. Here goes!
Just came up with this idea. Really wanted to write a story about it. Lara and Kurtis teamed up in Prague and went on after the fifth Obscura painting together. Readers, sequel to 'Return of Darkness' will take a little more time. Until that, enjoy this. Review as well.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
Ending
Prologue
Kurtis Trent ran to pull a huge lever after his small battle with the Proto Nephilim. To begin with, he had come behind that Croft woman, who turned the power of the main security system off. 'Stupid woman!' he thought to himself. Also, he didn't sign for coming and fighting this mutant baboon, but to turn the power back on. Sometimes, when he thought about her, he had a strange feeling, as if attracted to her. No way that was planned with what he did at the Louvre with her. But yes, life is full of surprises. His task completed, unplanned task, defeating the Proto, he walked back towards the air lock that kept the woman a prisoner. 'Really,' he thought to himself, 'I have iritated that woman a lot since I saw her in Paris,' and chuckled lightly. His trusty Boran X in hand as a caution if any more mutants turned up, he finally saw the airlock, situated above a ladder protected by gun terrets. He pushed the button and the doors opened with a little gas. He moved in, 'Empty!' he thought to himself.
THUD! He turned around to see the cause of the sound, and was, surprisingly, kicked by the woman in his hand which caused to let his pistol fly away from him. As if that was not enough, she aimed her Scorpian X at his forehead and as if realizing his end, he closed his deep blue eyes. 'Goodbye Trent, pleasant dreams,' his final thought.
BANG! 'Huh, what? No pain!' His eyes fluttered open and he saw the beutiful woman staring at something behind him. He turned around and saw that spiked mutant from the Maximum Containment Area. Now he owed her one.
"Thanks," he calmly responded to her action.

Thanks a lot for your response Mum. I appreciate you always having time to go through my works. Thanks a bunch :).
I thought I'd might paste the link to Ending (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2511169/2/) as it has nothing to do with this story (Return of Darkness). The link is straight from chapter 2, so you can read on. For reviewing, you can either tell me here how it was, or simply click the 'Go' button at the left side on the end of the page. Just type in your forum name there, so I'll recognize who you are, and you'll be reviewing as Anonymous (don't worry it's allowed).
I felt sort of guilty for Ending, so I thought that I'd paste the sequel (I've finally written it!!!) before doing it on the other site. There are no Nephilim here, as it is a fresh new start for Lara, Kurtis and Noor. I have also decided where this story will lead, and many of its other sequels.
This story is based on my homeland, Lahore in Pakistan. The title may suggest another thing, and I’d say it; Lara’s still the dark one, but she’s about to be changed. I’m afraid I don’t have any plans of writing Legend when it comes out, depending upon it’s story. This sequel ought to acquaint you with one VERY important point: Lara has a dark past. Kurtis has a dark past. Noor has a dark past. You will get hints of it, but you won’t be able to properly guess it in this part, but in the coming ones. By the way, it’s quite long to be a prologue :D .
I may edit the story with new ideas or something, but please. Accept my humble offering...
Translation is in parenthesis brackets.

Eye of Mummy
Prologue
“So, what’s happening?” Noor asked calmly in her mother tongue, Urdu, in her cell phone.
“Nothing much, tired of watching white faces and artists’ works here in France. Long to get home. Nadia and Ali just kill me, saying the food is too tasteless. You know English, American, French, Spanish, Arabs, they never eat spices!” A tired, wiped out Amna replied.
“Better than you. How are the children?” Noor asked quite in a bored manner, suggesting that she like her sister was tired as well, as she inquired about her blood nephew and niece.
“Hell!” Amna blurted out somewhat truthfully.
“Shut up!” Noor loudly snapped to her.
“What yaar, I am so tired, and these small little jumping beans are on my nerves!” Amna complained.
“Oh! I never knew you had a brain!” Noor teased, remembering their petty fights on small things before Amna got married.
“Kia museebat hay?! (What’s the problem?!)” Amna asked someone apart from Noor, and little Ali requested “Mum peena! (Drink water)”
“Wait Noor, I’ll get him some water, meanwhile, talk with Nadia,” Amna said in a tone that amused Noor, but she replied:
“WAIT! I’m talking like for an hour, and please, I want to tell you something.”
“Yes?” she asked somewhat anxiously, and maternally.
“You never do lose your motherly touch, do you?” Noor asked unexpectedly.
“NOOR!”
“Okay, alright, calm down!” she soothed, then continued, “Am I forgetting something today? An important event, I might’ve told you. Anything?”
“I think you have a secretary, ask him!” came Amna’s irritated reply.
“He didn’t come to work today.”
“How are they?”
“Who?” asked Noor, sitting up from her half lying half-sitting position.
“Those two, what were there names, yeah! Lara and Kurtis?”
“Why you asking me?”
“They were supposed to come today!” Amna told her with a smile coming on her face. “Noor!”
The wiped out businesswoman glanced at her watch anxiously, and exclaimed “Oh GOD!” and hurried towards her coat.
Note: yaar- a very casual word we use for a friend, sibling, parent (if slang) or simply anyone!
mum- what little children call ‘water’. No offense to you, Mum. :)

Really? *checks links*
Of course... I was logged in and pasted 'live preview'. Here, these oughta work:
Ending (all 12 chapters starting from chapter 1) (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2511169/1/)
Edited and modified version of "Return of Darkness" (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2211477/1/)
Oneshot: Death may not be just the end (http://http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2629062/1/)
Oneshot: Even traitors don't like being betrayed, WARNING! USE OF COARSE LANGUAGE!!! (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2912435/1/)
Summary (first oneshot): Song fiction without lyrics. Kurtis lays, dying, but will sparks fly when Lara comes?
Summary (second oneshot): A page of Kurtis' diary before leaving his job under Gunderson. Rated for coarse language.
Lemme know what you think of it... :)
