Return to the Cathedral Bug ?

Hi, everybody, I'm new here and I wonder if any of you could help me out with a possible bug.
I'm playing the "Return to the Cathedral" mission and Brother Murus didn't appear to me.
Nevertheless, the new objective concerning helping Murus was listed, but without letting me talk to the man. Actually, as I sad, the ghost didn't appear at all.
Using a walkthrough I found on the net, I got all the necessary items needed to solve the puzzle, but now, when I'm facing Murus' tomb, nothing happens, even if I try to touch the tomb stone with the rosary, light the candle, etc.
What should I do?

Hi avo,

1) Burn that walkthrough. You are far better off asking for help on this forum than using a walkthrough. Skipping ahead as you have done will only confuse you.

2) You will speak to Brother Murus several times in this mission. If you've gone ahead & gathered all the items, they won't work unless you've had Murus guide you through the process & then ask you to use the items to help him. Since you've got everything already, going back to do this shouldn't take much time.

3) I think it's possible to get into the cemetery without meeting Brother Murus. Is this what you've done? Or did you meet him initially & then not go back to talk to him again? The inital meeting place is on that sort of breezeway that leads out of the Cathedral--if you haven't seen him at all yet you might try walking around this area to try to activate the conversation.

Yeah. Go to the archway at the bottom of the stairs and move into the corner. If you are following a walkthrough, that is your first mistake. You need to do some things BEFORE you do others to trigger the correct sections and get information from the books, characters, and other elements of any of the THIEF games.

Shortcuts usually will screw you up.

I think it's better for you to restart the mission and follow what other people here are talking about. They're absolutely right. You are supposed to meet Murus on the crossroad pathway going to various places where you can find the elements he wants you to find and bring to the cemetery to perform the consecration ceremony after avoiding the zombies and haunts of course. If he's not appearing still after doing that, try restarting your computer and the mission to get things in order. You don't need that walkthrough cause Murus will be the one to guide you on what to do as you fulfill his requests. Goodluck!:)

Thanks a lot, guys, for the quick and competent response!
I retook the mission and, indeed, the ghost was there, I talked to it and I was able to go on.
I even had enough time last night to bury the two other brothers.
Tonight, I'll see what I can do about Brother Murus' last request.
Unfortunately, I didn't quite get it (because the audio track is not that easy to understand, for the ears of a guy who doesn't speak English as a native tongue - you know, I'm from Transylvania, the land of Dracula ;)).

Murus turning up is triggered by taking the eye.

Sometimes Murus would go to the wrong tombstone. Can't even find his. :)
