View Full Version : And here I thought that this concert season was dull...

Unfortunately, I missed the Seether, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin and Evanescence show here last month, but alas, all is not lost.

It turns out that this concert season is better than I previously thought. On my agenda:

October:

Metallica & Godsmack
The Killers
Ministry & My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult

November:

KMFDM

**drool**

Now, I've seen Godsmack twice (and they're not bad live, despite all of their songs sounding very similar :p). I may end up at the Metallica show just because this is one band that has been so influential in the music industry over the last twenty plus years. May take The Demonic Hellspawn to this one. (It will be their first show).

The Killers have a great sound and they seem like they'd be worth checking out. (I'm trying to get My Conscience to come with me to this one :D).

Ministry and TKK - I saw this listed and my mouth dropped. I've enjoyed both bands (moreso Ministry) for over a decade. This should be a rocking show!

Finally, KMFDM. I'm utterly speechless here.

Doesn't look like I'll get to see Rammstein until next year, but the above should keep me busy. :D

Is anyone else planning on going to these (or other) shows this year?

EDIT: Spelling adjustment.

Well I'm certainly not seing any since I'm on the other side of the Athlantic, but I'd love to go see Godsmack. I don't really care about the others. Also I'd love to see Rammstein, but I won't for the same reason:(

Rammstein is actually getting ready to tour on your side of the pond in November. Looks like they're hitting most of Europe (with the exception of England).

I've seen them twice as well. Actually hung out with them for a couple of hours the last time. Great guys. :)

I might be going to the Ministry/TKK concert in Seattle, it depends on whether or not I'm in town that week.

Nope, none...

I went to see Muse late last year (which was so awesome!) at the M.E.N Stadium (Manchester Evening News).. that night rocked my world.

THe year before I went (unintentionally) to see Jessie James... few months later I heard his song on TV and was like "I know that song..."

I really want to see the last night of the BBC Proms, but alas, work has other plans :(

i went to see KMFDM in Scotland not long ago, nothing like a KMFDM concert to wake u up :D but my concert season has been dull too... Nightwish & KMFDM are the only decent bands that have been around.

Actually, i think Blink 182 is at the arena in November but whether they qualify as a decent band is up for debate :D i like a good laugh though, could have a few drinks with my mates and go watch them mess up their show :p

I am waiting patiently for the new Nine Inch Nails tour though, that might take a long while since i have no clue when the new album is out.

I missed In Flames on their last tour which sucked cos i couldn't get to London for them and i don't have the money for Leeds festival this year which isn't such a big downer since the line up sucks this year, like last years. :D Best Years were 2001 and 2002 for Prodigy, Muse, Offspring and Amen, Manson was cool too but i saw him on his GGG tour so he was pretty samey.... and i'm babbling now about topics of no relavence.... umm bye! :p

So it turns out I will be going to see Ministry and TKK in Seattle. Apparently it was just announced that Hanzel Und Gretyl (one of my new favourite bands) is playing the show too, which should make it extra excellent.

Interesting. I see them listed elsewhere on the tour, but all I can seem to find confirmed for the Detroit show is Ministry and TKK. I'm still trying to find someone to go with me to this one. If all else fails, looks like My Conscience is going whether he wants to or not. :p

Wow! Other people have heard of My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. No one around here knows squat about them. Their out-of-print 13 Above the Night cd is incredible.

GYAAAH!! My room is one solid mosquito! Damn you, Moebius! You got the wrong bloodsuckers!

*ahem*

Man, I wish decent concerts would make it around here once in a while. By the time I find out, they're always already sold out.:(

The Metallica/Godsmack show was here in town earlier this summer and I really wanted to go, but tickets were mightily expensive (upwards of $100 apiece, I believe) and I couldn't find anyone to go with me. I wasn't going alone, so..:( .

The first Metallica show I saw, my boss at the time and his young son went with a group of us from work. His son couldn't have been more than 10, but he really seemed to enjoy himself. It seemed odd to me for anyone that age to be at that type of show (he was one of only a very few there), and it still does. I guess I'm just old fashioned in thinking that young 'uns need to stay young as long as they can, but after all they are The Demonic Hellspawn. :p

I was hoping to take The Demonic Hellspawn to Rammstein this year as their first show, but I suppose I can settle for this. :D

PS - Demonic Hellspawn #1 is sixteen and Demonic Hellspawn #2 is 13.

Metallica is running about $57.50 / ticket for decent seats. (This is not including the ridiculously high surcharges added on though).

I'd go alone to that one, but not to the others on my list. They're in an interesting part of town. ;)

I finally ended up getting to see TOOL on September 22nd here in Detroit. (I've only been waiting fifteen years to do so). Great show. I was a tad disappointed in their decision not to play anything off Undertow, but it was still a great show! ;)

I unfortunately missed out on KMFDM again :( but I am going to see Mushroomhead on October 27th, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers on November 2nd and Atreyu on November 3rd. I saw RHCP back in '95 and they put on a good show. I'm hoping that's still the case. :)

I went to see Disturbed last week. That was an awesome show. I've not heard of Demonic Hellspawn, but they're called "Demonic Hellspawn", so the must be good.

KMFDM is an awesome band. Along with Rammstein. How I wish NIN didn't suck today. With Teeth is the worst CD I have ever heard for Industrial music.

Sadly, except for KMFDM and Rammstein (and the occasional video game/movie soundtrack), music sucks these days!! It is all filtered with no name bands that think they can actually play something good when all it ends up being is some poppish piece of **** and the only reason they get famous is because of lonely girls who got nothing better to do with themselves. Or you have those lonely males who need to to something so they go out and buy some crappy Fergie CD just to sickly enjoy themselves.

To someone who hasn't been a member for so long, I would have said that Demonic Hellspawn aren't a band (or at least not the ones Umah is talking about).

Huh? What about someone who has been a member this long? Are they a band or not?

Hmm... I sure haven't been around too long... But - judging by the conversation - her kids/nieces/nephews/cousins etc.

Behold, I have brains! :D

Aww... I wish Disturbed would come to Finland, one of these years :( And Korn, and Metallica, and so on... Oh well, in my head is better than nothing ;)

The Demonic Hellspawn are actually my younger brothers: Tom (16) and Gavin (18).

Although, I do agree with Vamp, that would make an awesome band name. :)

So... Wait a minute, your brothers are 16 (w00t! Way to go, Mighty_Matt! :D) and 18, and have never been to a concert!?

Slightly off-topic, I know, but... Hmm... Let's see... Oh! So Rammstein is going around Europe? Any idea if they're gonna go through Scandinavia?

They've been to concerts since I first posted in this thread (a few country ones with their mom and I took them both to Kid Rock back in May).

I'm not sure if Rammstein is hitting Scandinavia. May want to check their site.

Yeah, I actually came to think of that, as soon as I hit the 'Submit' button :P

(There goes the "I have brains" statement...)

It was just that I half thought you were joking, because you've been a member for quite some time, and this was not Umah's first mention of The Demonic Hellspawn.

I've liked what I've heard of Muse so far. I haven't had a chance to check all of their stuff out yet, though.

Thank you. Thank you very much. :D

I didn't get to go to the Disturbed show, but Mushroomhead totally rocked again (especially at The Machine Shop)!
