????

Take the cdrom out of your brother's computer and put it in yours. The PS2 and Xbox run into the problem of able to read Cdroms and not DVD's....could be that your player has the same misaligned laser problem. Hmm come to think of it...I had a problem like this with the Game Thief. It wouldn't work on one Cd-rom but it would work on another on the same PC.

What do you mean it doesn't install....what are you doing?...no seriously, step by step.

Is it a fake copy or something?

I don't have the game in front of me...but there should be an install menu type thing that you can click on that will bring the menu screen up, with different things to install.... you know, the movieplayer, some sound driver....and maybe something else.

Then there should be another executible, that will go straight to the installation of FF7, without going to that above menu window..... Try clicking on that exectuible. The one that goes directly into the FF7 install wizard.

I'd tell you the filename...but I don't remember. The standard menu could be something like setup or autorun, for all I know...and the direct install could be some file with FF7 and an abbrevated install name. Like, "FF7instll.exe". but I'm just talking out of my butt, 'cause I have no idea what they are named...I just remember that there is an executible that goes directly to the install wizard of FF7.

I have heard that copying the game to the harddrive, and then installing it there, works...but then you'll have to go into the regestery, and change a few things to tell the software to look in the CD-rom drive and not the C drive. Moviepath is one...and I thing Data something or other, is the other. If it does install using this method...then your DVD reader is jacked.

..so you fixed it, then?

BTW: at Qhimm's site, I doubt anyone will see your post on the FAQ anytime soon.....It's usually not a thread regulars visit that often, since it's always sticked to the top.
