Installation problem: _IsRes.dll

HELP!!! PLEASE!!!

I'm trying to install Commandos 3 but soon after the InstallShield Wizard begins, I get an error message that an installation support file _IsRes.dll 'could not be installed'.

Any solutions? Any ideas?

perhaps your XP is trying to get ready for the games, dont worry it will install before August :D

but seriously maybe your CD is scratched

can you successfully copy the cab file to your HD?

Yes, I can copy everything from the CD to the hard disk. And the CD is authentic and looks fine...

Interestingly, after I copied everything to the '....\Temp\{C270BC04-1540-4673-960F-A546B2C860CD}' folder where InstallShield wizard tried to extract files and then ran Setup.exe from this folder, the error message I got was that '... setup.inx could not be installed'.
But if I run Setup from the CD, I still get the (original) message that '... _IsRes.dll could not be installed'.

Perhaps more useful is what I've noted today: when I try to install another driver for my graphics card, I get the same _IsRes.dll error message during the InstallShield Wizard installation process. Could it be the InstallShield program that is at fault? But, since I don't have InstallShield software installed in my computer, it must be the software that comes with the game that is to blame. But how can the same faulty InstallShield software be part of other applications, too? Or is it just some kind of incompatibility between InstallShield and my XP? Or...?

I'm completely puzzled!!! :(

but from what you say it sounds like the file is probably a corrupt shared file that already exists on your machine,


I cant find the file on my machine, but it hasnt had C3 installed on it yet
