Is there an option to change the sound Hz? You may be trying to run 48Hz sound when your card doesn't support that.
Yeah, I've tried it at all the available Hz settings (44100, 22050, 11025)... that doesn't seem to make any difference!

What kind of sound card do you have? Is it built-in, internal, or external? If it's built-in to your motherboard, what kind of motherboard do you have?

And are you using a notebook or desktop computer?
Ah -- actually I'm using a Mac (PowerBook G4, 10.4.6)...

Ohhhh. Other people have had the same problem; since I don't use a Mac though, I'm really not sure as to what you'd do. Have you downloaded the patch?
Yeah, I've downloaded the 1.01 patch and the 1.03 patch... sounds have been slow in all three versions.

Here's something I read:
The Mac community has been very vocal to Aspyr (the ones who ported it to Mac) and have very strong desires for a Mac OS X patch of the game, as it only works on Mac OS 9 or "Classic" environment currently. Newer Intel Macs are completely unable to run the game due to the phasing out of Classic OS support.
Do you have an intel mac? Which OS are you running?
PowerBook G4, 10.4.6. Oddly enough, I started the game yesterday and the sound was miraculously back to normal! Don't know how long that'll last... but it sure is nice hearing all the dialogue :)

Sorry 'bout that, I see you already said that.

Very good! Do alert me if you encounter another problem. Nasty mess, what? :p :D
