How to use grenades in TRII

I can't figure out how to use/throw hand grenades in this game. The manual that came with the game says nothing about it. If I select them from the inventory and press / nothing happens.

Thing is, they aren't hand grenades, you have to get the grenade launcher before you can use them:)

Very effective when you do get the launcher though! ;) Patience! ;)

Yes you should collect all the grenades you can for what awaits you in the last level.... :D

That is a mighty powerful weapon! :D Use it with caution, when you really don't want to take live prisoners! :p Perfect when you are attacked by several thugs at the same time! Doesn't load very fast though, so it was not my weapon of choice in the last level! :D
