Stuck in dock area?

After finishing the clock tower mission and while evading the assassins I went into the docks area on my way back "home". However, the glyphs aren't working to let me OUT of the docks and the two normal gates are still sealed (because of the quarantine I assume) although obviously the one wasn't from the other side 'cause it let me in. Am I really stuck or is there some other way to get out of the docks area?

You should be able to leave the same way you got in,if not your stuck unless you have a saved game to go to the gate should be open.There are two gates in the dock area which one are you trying to leave through?

I tried the way I got in (from oldtown?) but there's no gate there.

Old Quarter.

After the clocktower mission, visit your fence in Old Quarter, and you'll find a note telling you to return to your apartment.

Checkyour Old Quarter map. There's a gate that leads directly to Stonemarket.

The gate may appear to be closed, but I think it's actually open. Instead of approaching the gate itself, look for a door on the wall just right of the large gate. Enter the door, take a left and walk into the fog.
