I really think that the Keeper Assassins should be throughout the game. Having an intelligent force constantly after you really makes an evening stroll through the city quite sinister. What do you think?

The problem with having the enforcers after you through out the entire game, is that the stupid peasants flip out and cause the enforcers to go into attack mode. Plus, the enforcer's voices, IMHO, are chilling enough. That is not saying that I will not mind seeing them in a FM, but through out the whole game of Thief would have become old.

I really enjoyed dodging those assassins and setting them up to fight others. Everytime I heard them talk made me jump. But when the assassins made their appearance and when they left was appropriate with the story line.....although I kept expecting to see one errant assassin come after me who did not get the message that Garrett was again working for the Keepers.

They did kill a good # of city watch for me though, and or atleast provide a distraction while the city watch killed them.
They are an annoyance. They are neither worthy opponents or intelligent. Now, if they acted like Keepers, the might be as cool as Haunts.

The Keeper Assassins were maybe my biggest disappointment with the game. I was expecting stealthy, hard-to-spot Keepers (I had in mind the great FM "Equilibrium") & instead they turned out to be kill-crazy psychotics. The voices were creepy but they kept saying that they spotted me when in reality they were murdering some poor Pirate a block away from me. I didn't find them much of a challenge since the other people on the streets (Hammers, Watchmen, Pagans, etc.) managed to kill many of them & clear my way for me.

Agreed - the AI engine wasn't advanced enough to make them formidable foes. Their only big edge (aside from being tougher than guards) was that they were hidden from other AIs while in shadows.
Funny, though - both times I've played through, when you find one of them in your apartment after he's killed the poor taffer inside, he ends up blaming the death on you (something like "the betrayer has killed again").
Tch, tch. :)
I don't understand why they are so savage after being indoctrinated, they were once keeper acolytes and I believe most Keepers are merciful people.

Yep, they could've been terrifying. At least give them partial invisibility like Gamall had. Maybe we could only spot them by slightly glowing eyes. And have them stand in shadows, against walls.
And since G can read their minds, that would have been the spookiest way to track them. As soon as you hear, "There he is!" you have to scan the shadows for them quick or you're a goner.

Thing is, though, they yell that whenever they see ANYONE. I've jumped a dozen times when I heard them say that, only to find out they're killing some poor peasant a block away. These elite, glyph-enhanced assassins can't recognize my face, even though there are posters with its likeness all over the town. Funny story: once I got caught by the Enforcers and they killed me, but after I was dead I heard them say, "Continue the search for the Betrayer."
