I read the Thief 3 add-ons post. I have to say, they should, or someone should develop a game based on Thief, but based out in today.
I would be nice to be able to go into a ritzy mansion and jack all of the goods. Or maybe go into a giant corporation and steal some secret project. Or, even rob a governmental agency, like CIA or who knows!! The boundaries are endless for this type of game.
Just a thought though.

I thought of something along these lines while picking a lock somewhere. Thing is, with all the new gadgets Garret (or perhaps Garrets great great great x200 grandson) would need to carry around, it would make for a pretty different type of game. Chances are there would be all sorts of electrical locks, retina scanners and the like to get past. And some night vision too would be handy. Many a time I've doused so many torches it's been as hard for me to see my way around as it has been for enemies.

SplinterCell 1 or 2 is probably good enough, but don't expect to be able to ghost every mission. Some missions are designed for confrontation.
DeusEx 1 or 2 is also good for stealth play in a modern era. Some missions require confrontation, and so are not ghostable.

Splinter Cell is really awesome.
A real "must have" for anyone who likes sneaky
kind of games.
