I personally only found a couple. For those that don't know, these are actual areas (like special rooms, etc) that are on rooftops that you can only get to with the gloves.

The first one I know of is In the South Quarter by Garrett's appartment. It's right near the stairs and you just climb straight up the wall.

The other is In the Old Quarter across from the fence's house. It takes you over some rooftops and also in to the fences house itself.

I also know that In the docks, you can climb up to the old woman's apartment not far from the entrance. She's the one with the note about seeing something in Thief 2 if I remember correctly.

But that's all I found and I've been through the game once already.

I'm getting ready to replay and I would really like to find the others.

It would seem that the roof tops are one more thing that they took out of the game for the most part, which makes the climbing gloves some what useless except for a few places in the game.

I'd also like to point out that the climbing gloves do not seem to be absolutely necessary to get up into some of those upper areas. Now that I'm playing through the second time I'm finding ways to get up to where I know there's stuff.Just move some boxesSince a shop won't stock items unless Garret has found them then one important upper area is across from Garret's apt a box can be moved out from under an awning, and Garret can mantle up onto the box, then mantle up onto the awning and finally climb onto a ledge to get a gas arrow...these things come in handy in some of the first missions, however there is nowhere to buy them until Garret can get into Old Quarter to visit Carmen. Also kinda neat is that Garret can then drop down through a trap door into the street which passes from Garret's fountain courtyard into South Quarter , but the drop is too far and puts a serious hurt on Garret when he lands...so, another box should be moved and placed under the trap door so Garret can land on it and not get hurt...the box can actually be against the wall and work nicely, so it doesn't have to be in the middle of the street. I just had another thought that perhaps a smaller box could be positioned on the big box to allow Garret to climb up into the trap door and around to drop down into a dark corner of the fountain courtyard...a nice route to take to escape detection like in the end game and when the thugs are waiting for him.
