Can supreme ghosting be done with the ultimate difficulty patch? I don't see how it can be done with the spiders in the lord bafford's manor at the beginning.

I remember once in the Lost City where the waterfall is there are many spiders. Is it possible to get past the one in the lighted cave without alerting him? I don't think it is so therefore the level can't be ghosted. In these instances can the rule be omitted or ignored for that one area and then resumed after getting past that part?

In fact, Lost City has been Ghosted. The spider you're referring to can be gotten past without alerting it. It's the spiders at the tunnel just below that are the major problem. Some, or all, of these must be nudged aside to Ghost. Dunno about Supreme Ghosting though. IIRC, at best, that spider may give out a chirp as a first alert. This would bust the Supreme Ghost of Lost City.

However, to answer your question in more generic terms, Ghosting is a style of play and can be applied to all or even just parts of a mission. When the entire mission is not Ghostable, any Ghost report should note this fact.

Can these missions be ghosted with the ultimate difficulty patch?

Another thing, I've tried editing my user.cfg file (ThiefI) for the

;FailOnSee
;FailOnKO
;FailOnKill

but they didn't work. Would someone kindly explain how to do it correctly.

The FailOn "cheats" do work. But perhaps you need to remove the semi-colon from the beginning of the line you'd like to activate? And I've only ever used them in TMA. Not sure about TDP or TG?

I don't believe anyone has tried to Ghost the Original Missions with the Ultimate Difficulty modification. I have played a bit with the mod but I don't recall if I Ghosted or not. Feel free. And if you do try please let us know how you make out.

As for the ultimate difficulty patch, I am not aware of people who have tried ghosting with it enabled. I do not see why it would necessarily prevent ghosting. It may make a difference in some missions. Go ahead and try it, and let us know.

As for the Bafford spiders, they are extremely difficult without the patch. They can be bypassed and you can still ghost it. You do not have to get all the loot in any mode. That is just a "perfect" bonus. Nice, but not necessary.

:) Nice to see some supreme ghosters out there!

Yeah, I remember swearing out loud roaming about with those Bafford-spiders, trying hard to avoid alerts of any kind. Strange how easy it is once you know how... ;)

Haven't tried with ultimate difficulty though...

What does this patch do? I've run across a reference to it before but don't know anything about it.

Where can one download it?

Thief Fan Mods and Patches (http://www.thief-thecircle.com/media/patches/)

The Ultimate Difficulty mods crank up the AI sensitivities, beef up the search routines, etc. Generally make the game more difficult.
