I have read a number of threads where people talk about the bad aspects of T: DS and why they don't like the game... First of all, let me say, that I am in NO way criticizing those who have problems with T: DS or don't like it. Everyone is entitled to thier own opinion and I respect that as I hope you would respect mine.
Having said that, I have somthing for those people to think about:
Would you rather be playing or have played T: DS OR would you rather there have never been a third Thief game??
In my opinion, I'm just glad that this game was made in the first place. I have enjoyed playing it up to this point and I'm sure I will continue to enjoy it to the end.

Well said old chap...
While I feel as if Thief - Deadly Shadows is a just a taste of what could have been, I for one love it just as much as the other games in the series, but not more....
MINOR SPOILERS : I mean just take a look at the cutscene from Thief - The Metal Age in which Garett visits The Keepe Library. It is immense, huge, breathtaking. In Deadly Shadows it's just small. TOO SMALL, I mean pathetically so....
But that is because the game was designed with both PC and XBOX in mind and because it has a buggy, unstable, resource hungry graphics engine. Just take a look at some indoor levels in Far Cry, they are 4 times as big, if not larger... Even some levels from the first 2 games were much larger....
But I still love the game, all the right stuff is in it...it's better than any other sneak-around game...and it has a kick-ass storyline which continues the previous 2 games....What more could I ask for...

With a few tweaks, and the promise of a level editor, the game will be gold, trust me. And the few tweaks are coming in a patch soon, so all we need now is the SDK. Once we get the editor (I'm giving it a few good weeks before the players burst into the Ion Storm offices demanding an editor :D ) the game will go down as a classic, I can gurantee it.
