Fog bug, in game mission?

Hello,

A search doesn't reveal anyone who has experienced this, but I cannot go through the fog in the middle of the Sunken Citadel (to load up the rest of the area). Garrett just walks up to it like a regular wall. Any ideas? Must a pre-requisite be met?

Have you changed your files to eliminate the 'do you want to go to ... ?' box? If so that portal fails to work.

I have no idea even how to do that - where can I find the file to search and see if that is the case?
