Ok, I know the Shalebridge Cradle level has been talked about. I agree it was the best. I agree it scared the HELL out of me. But in all the posts I didn't see anyone mention the cage in the basement. When you get her blood vile, she says, "Don't go in that cage...yada yada yada" Well, it probably took me a whole two minutes to step into that cage...
and when nothing happened, it took me a whole nother minute to close the door. still nothing happened, but still wicked scary.
the other really scary part was....
when I was picking my first lock in the white hall. ya, I didn't notice any zombies, but sure enough one came up on me when I was picking. I ran backwards to the begining of the level, frantically fumbling out my fire arrows. to the say the least, I didn't survive that one.

You'll find out more about the cage later.
And then you'll get to see the demonic flying howler monkeys in action.

Don't forget they also all have the voice of Karras, and occasionally throw out a quote.

There were two parts to this level that freaked me out. The first one was bad, hard my heart racing and I was just kinda freaked. The second one actually made my hair stand on end and I got goosbumps all over.
first one
The door in the attic with the banging. it got louder and more agitated as I got closer. Narrow stairway, nowhere to run or hide. I was just thoroughly freaked out. I kept thinking the door was gonna burst open. I actually walked away from i the first time, did everything else I could do and them opened it.
second one
when I first got to the morgue. I was hiding in the passageway to the second area(the one with the 3rd special loot). When the zombie in the morgue turned away, I thought I would sneak in to the second area. The zombie on the ground gets up and starts screaming + hitting me. DUDE, that was just crazy. I didnt even notice him there. I was being all stealthy and all of a sudden this loud scream. I literally got goose bumps all over.
And I thought the haunts were scary in T2 when I first ran into them. After the cradle, the haunts + regular zombies are good for comic relief.

Well, you are correct but the really scary part involving the cage comes much later...
After you find & burn her diary then attempt to leave and find you can't..... just yet. You have to enter the cage to go back into the past, BUT this time you CAN die "forever and ever."

When you first get into the Cradle, you're on the second level of the basement, I swear to god the dripping of the water sounded like 'Something' moving around on the level below me. Took me a good 5min to work up the courage to head down the ladder.
