Commonly Requested Spoilers & Special Loot Locations (Hint Format, All Censored)

Here follows a list of what I consider to be commonly requested spoilers, and a list of the locations of every special loot. A three-hint format has been used for mission related spoilers, but for the special loots only the location is provided (three hints for three special loots for X missions, you do the math).

Author's Note: I was going to do this for the entire game before posting it, but unforunately I'm not finding as much replay value in it as I hoped (at least not this soon after finishing it on hard). So I'm posting what I have now, and I will update this post mission by mission as I complete them on expert.

End of the Bloodline
Where is the switch to the portcullis in the basement?
Hint #1
Investigate the Inner Quarters of the castle.
Hint #2
It's a cliche, like something out of a mystery/horror movie.
Answer
In Lord Ember's chambers, on the second floor of the Inner Quarters, there is a candle on the wall by his desk, pull it.

Loot Item: Painting of Mortimer the Mad
In the Castle Front, there's a crate in the storage closet upstairs, move it aside to find a tunnel to the painting.
Loot Item: Kutherford Medallion
Located on the mantle of the fireplace in Lord Ember's chambers, second floor of the Inner Quarters.
Loot Item: Gilded Helm
Located in the Inner Quarters, inside a chest in Lady Elizabeth's room at the top of the tower.

St. Edgar's Eve
How do I get into the High Priest's Chambers?
Hint #1
The High Priest's Chambers can be reached via the church's East Courtyard.
Hint #2
Church bells do not always exist simply to mark the hours.
Answer
You need to ring the church bell then take the pipe from the east side balcony down to the High Priest's Chambers.

How do I retrieve the Chalice?
Hint #1
Once you have retrieved the Holy Symbol from the High Priest's Chambers, the remaining answers are in the Factory, located adjacent to the West Courtyard.
Hint #2
You need to manufacture a stamped gear to serve as the second key to the Chalice.
Answer
Create the stamped gear in the Factory, then go to the Reliquary and insert the Holy Symbol and stamped gear into the key slots on the machines below the Chalice's cage.

Loot Item: Codex of Admonitions
Located on the second floor of the church near your access point, sits on a bench in a small shrine at the north end of the church's western flank.
Loot Item: Cat O' Nine Tails
Located in a chest in the High Priest's Chambers.
Loot Item: Effigy of St. Edgar
Located in a chest in the Barracks, which is adjacent to the High Priest's Chambers.

Into the Pagan Sanctuary
How do you activate the Ritual of the Root?
Hint #1
You need two arrows and blood.
Hint #2
You need a body (there is one just outside the start of the stairway down into the tunnel), a water arrow, and a moss arrow.
Answer
Place the body on the flat part of the altar. Then fire the water and moss arrows into the appropriate symbols.

Grrrrrr... I'm 6% short of my mark!
There's a cup on that on the second floor of the Precious Comb room. The catch is it doesn't shine. Thanks to OldestNoob for finding this one.

Loot Item: Precious Comb
Inside the sanctuary there's a room with a bed and a note on it about the Ritual, this item is located in the rafters of that room's second floor above another bed.
Loot Item: Bronze Beetle
In one of the few locked chests in one of the few locked rooms in the sanctuary. The adjacent room has an unbroken staircase leading to some broken rafters and two windows, numerous tall bushes, two torches, and a patolling guard.
Loot Item: Ancient Statuette
There is a ladder in the Pagan training area near numerous mechanical structures, it is illuminated by a torch. You can also access it by a second ladder and some rafters via a window.

The Sunken Citadel
How do you get the Kurshok Crown?
Hint #1
This item is exactly where you would expect it to be, there's a flight of stairs you can access for elevation.
Hint #2
You can grab it by pulling a trick out of all the old cheesy swordplay movies.
Answer
South of the Throne Room you can find a flight of stairs on the north side of a long hallway going east, take them up to a platform overlooking the crown. Then jump onto chandelier so you can reach it.

How do you get the Glyph Key?
Hint #1
Again, this one is pretty easy. Find the Keeper's corpse.
Hint #2
In the Citadel Core, what room would you expect a Keeper to be in?
Answer
The corpse of the Keeper and the Glyph Key is in the Library.

Loot Item: Large Diamond
In the Outer Citadel you will find two Pagans talking in the Theater, above the raised platform they're on is the diamond extruding from the wall.
Loot Item: Pagan Battle Horn
In the Outer Citadel an Arena serves as a hatchery, this item is located at the bottom of a short tunnel underneath the bridge.
Loot Item: Kurshok Tapestry
Within the Citadel Core, there is a room bulbing off a hallway with stairs leading to the Crown's overlook. Adjacent to this room is a semi-circular storage hall, this item hangs on the wall in that hall.

If you had a difficult time achieving a certain part of a mission and believe it should be added, simply reply with the information necessary for me to add it to the list in the appropriate format (without replaying the mission myself) and I will do so as soon as I can.

Since yesterday after having my first encounter with a keeper I have been trying to get into the Church & beneath the Well. They each have a glowing symbol, but I can't figure out how to access either of these places.....First time playing thief.

Need help with Kurshok Crown;
I climb the chandelier and jump right through the crown but it stays in the air, where it was. What am I doing wrong?

If you need help getting 90% loot in Overlook Mansion (Widow Moira's House), I have one place that many may not have looked. I ran around that place for 2 hours at 89% looking for one more piece of loot.

There's one:

on top of one of the TALL storage shelves in the kitchen...the room with the 2 ovens and the cookbook of the Captain's favorite meals. Hop on the barrel next to it to get it. It's impossible to see if you don't stand on the barrel.

Don't know what made me look there, but I did. Then all was woodsie well.

I don't know if it was this hard or if I'm just stupid :P
Map: Museum
There is a medallion around the neck of a high statue in the Terenso Hall (I belive it was called. Same room as powerswitch). Anyway, I climed up the wall on the far right side of the room (guess it works with jumping from the balcony aswell). Then you should place yourself so you can see the statues two hands sticking out below you. Then let go and right click in mid-air. I lost two points of health doing this, but I guess you can try to slide on the statue in some way to avoid this.

I just shot the statue with a fire arrow from the floor. The medallion went flying, and I walked over and picked it up.

I'm stuck in the pagan sanctuary with 87% loot. I've searched everywhere like crazy and I can't find anything. I've searched the mines all over and found nothing new, I'm pretty sure I found that loot item that didn't shine in the Shaman's hut and I've got all the special items, I've searched the tunnels and stairway where you go to perform the ritual several times with no joy and those sewers just after the mine entrance didn't seem to have anything other than what's in that chest, what am I missing?

A broadhead works just as well.

I'm having a problem getting through the cradle level.

I have performed all the tasks for the girl and have completed all objectives except finding info on the hag. Do I need to go back in time for all 9 patients, or is there a specific patient I need to go back as.

Please help.

Actually could you post a more-specific answer? I'm sick of doing the cradle - I don't have much time at a sitting anymore to play and just want to end the mission.

For the Statue Necklace at the Museum, you can alsoStand behind the Statue, looking at the Statue, and look to Garrett's right at the wall. Go to that wall, to a position on the right side of the large Pennant. Climb the wall to a position higher than the Pennant is. Edge left all the way to the end of the wall. Look left and hop to the adjacent Wall, which runs in front of the Statue. Interestingly, that hop is not difficult and may have been programmed thus. Edge left until you're immediately above the exact center of an archway ledge below Garrett's feet. You are now in a position above the Statue. Lower yourself until that ledge stops you. Then drop off (Hit the "Jump" button] from the wall. Garrett will invariably drop on top of the Statue. Do not move. He will then very, very slowly slide down the Statue. Now, one of two things will happen. (1) Garrett can easily fob the necklace. (2) The necklace will drop between the base of the Statue and the Statue proper. The only importance of his not moving is to keep the Statue from falling over. If you don't mind that happening, then movement in looking is unimportant. The fall from the Statue is always extremely slow and very soft, even if the Statue is falling over. That part of it must have been part of the Programming, because it is a unique phenomenon, as far as I know. It is as if he were in slow motion in a movie or had a time dilation.

bhame, the info on the hag is in the nursery, near where you found Lauryl's diary. It's on the podium on the far end.

Hope this helps.

few things, there's the aforementioned cup in the rafters, there's also some wine bottles in the room with water just before the ent/altar .. also way back near the well entrance, where you start the level there's coins on the ground ( wishing well coins ), there's a crate with a toolbox on it, there was a gem and some gold, you can climb the wood beams overhead right there, and there's a cup on some crates way up high
