"OHHHHHH of course! Its our fault that we expected a game to run on our computer! After all we ALWAYS carry around the exact specs of our video cards and NEVER fail to check the corner box 1 inch tall and 1.5 inches long on the BACK of the box!

After all, EVERYONE is technically savvy enough to know about that kind of thing. I mean the differences between the NVIDIA GeForce 4TI and the NVIDIA GEForce 4MX is so painstakingly OBVIOUS as night and day!!

Of course its preposterous that any of us could get a video card that doesnt have the latest pixel shader BEFORE we ever knew Thief would need something we had never heard of! Its all our fault for not being psychic.

I presently have 2 options: Replace the video card of my Dell that is just a hair over 6 months old, or return Thief 3 and get my money back.

Congratulations Eidos, you lost my $40."

What!? Of course you should know exactly what your comp is capable of and what it is running. That is as bad as someone with a lawsuit claiming their coffee was too hot. You should just know what is going on inside your machine. And on top of that you can't come here complaining with excuses when everything is available to you through various websites concerning your comp info and Thief:3 stats. It's a tired excuse. Plus that card is bad. Get the new ATI X800 PRO, crushes the new NVIDIA. However for someone looking out for the pocket book, ATI has great cards out on pricewatch that are cheap as dirt.

Ya know, I'm not the smartest fella in the world. So I may be wrong.

But I think copying a post from a thread that was locked by a Moderator and starting a NEW thread with it is a BAD idea.

That thread is closed, that is why he started a new one because really it is silly attacking the developer if your video card does not run the game, especially if it is mentioned on the system requierments.

Also the other post about being a proud XBOX owner so not to deal with the PC crap.. I say FPS are only made for the PC. the only game that handles fine on xbox is Halo and even so the PC version handles much better.

I have an xbox but FPSs are best played on the PC.

Also I laugh at people complaining about the PC crap, they got it easy this day and age with direct x and the game setting everything for you, I remember DOS and setting up video and that damn audio, or even worse memory settings.

Thanks for the support. As for Xbox, I have one as well and I must say HALO is way better on PC. The PC gives you the exact level of control you need for any FPS. Plus with the right hardware, like a Nostromo N52, you can do anything in thief and other FPS'. I highly recommend the Nostromo, for you can program everything to be at your fingertips.

The only FPS I play is Halo on Xbox, that is the only acception. I have tried others and given up. It's always too jerky for me to take FPS seriously on a console.
