fmv question (possible spoilers)

In several fmv's you see the stone gargoyle and in Orlands office you see one. In the fmv's where garreth meets a keeper or the splinter group of keepers these gargoyles are shown. Do they have any significance? When you look at the fmv called first_contact_engl_none_30.bik you'll see half way down the fmv that the gargoyle appears to be moving. Any thoughts on that? Is is Gamall's doing?

OTHER statues, yes, but not the gargoyle ones.
