open DEFAULT.ini in the system directory, search for MouseLagThreshold , and change the 75 to 0. Save, play.

Of interesting note, the variable that affects your pressing into an object and waiting before it reacts is called in the ini "humping".

Search in the default.ini for: [PCStartup]

ShowIntroMovies=True

Set to false to kill them all.
-------------------------
ShortIntroMovies__t=d:\content\t3\VideoTextures\eidos-logo.bik;d:\content\t3\VideoTextures\ionstorm-logo.bik;d:\content\t3\VideoTextures\Copyright.bik;d:\content\t3\VideoTextures\nvidia.bik;d:\content\t3\VideoTextures\eax.bik

delete any of the above entries to eliminate each indivual video.

what do you mean by "swimmy"?

He means mouse lag. If you think your mouse might be lagging a bit, move it really radically during the game, give it a shove in some direction, and see if your view moves as you move the mouse or about half a second afterwards. That effect gets really annoying.
