Hi everyone,

I wanted ask some of you who have played thief 3 a little bit or fully. Is T3 anything like Splinter Cell? From the screenshots it looks like SC, and that excites me.

Thanks for the answers!

It's akin to Splinter Cell in that, at its core, it's a stealth game where you hide in shadows.

It differs both in goals (In SC, you follow objectives along a linear path using the agenda of a governmental 'hidden' association, in Thief, you obviously steal valuable) and environment.

Thief 3 is supposed to be lots more open-ended than Splinter Cell is, but keep in mind it's a mediaval setting, of course you have gadgets, but none of that technology stuff.

SC is similar in a few ways but not really. T:DS is similar only because it is a stealth game, and true the lock picking is the same, but it's based in a whole different time period and the levels have nothing in common. The levels are also easier, I could never pass some of the levels on SC, but in T:DS I finished it in 2 days. I don't put them together, completely different games in my eyes.

If you found it too easy install the 1.1 patch and have a go on expert. Thief becomes a whole different animal on the hardest setting:)

Good for you. You might not want to do that in this game though, it's more about Stealth then it is finishing the game first. Oh, and another thing that is different is the ability to move around and explore. I don't think you could really do that in SC.

Ya, I played it the first time in Hard just so I could say I finished it, then I went back and explored on Expert. I was too freaked out the first time to really explore, guess I was just in shock from it finally comming out.:p
