I went to the local Software Etc. to get Blood Omen 2. I'd seen it in their used game section before when I was absolutely broke. So I go to get the game now that I've got money, and I look at the case. It's covered in some nasty drek. FOUL!! I think the last person to play it ate buffalo wings or something. Needless to say, I placed said game back on the shelf. I really want BO2, but I ain't gonna buy anything that's covered in mysterious organic material. I suppose I could have washed it off or asked the people there to, but they shouldn't have put it out without cleaning it off, so @#&!! them. I'll go on eBay.
Oh, there was also the time I got onto the only train back to my college as usual (this time with my heavy iMac in tow), only to discover they'd changed the rules so I could no longer pay for my reserved ticket on the train with checks or check cards, and the only way to pay would be to get off the crowded train in NYC, run to the ticket counter upstairs, get the ticket, and hope I could get back on... in about 5 minutes. Fortunately, what should have been the worst day of my life was salvaged by many people who helped me out of the scrapes I encountered, so I and my iMac got back to school in one piece. My faith in humanity was renewed that day.:)

Last year I got BO1 and I started playing and reached Vorador's Mansion...then my mom discovered that its a 18 rated game and I was 17 last year so I waited 6 months to resume the game..:(

Sorry to hear that, KainOFthehylden.
The whole video game rating system is messed up. Diablo is in the same category as Vice City, one of the most depraved games ever made. Give me a break. How can anyone take such a system seriously?

What is it with the people who decide to sell their copy of BO2? Mine looked like someone had thrown it in frustration, the disk had a chunk missing. (It played all the way through, but there were places where I couldn't hear the dialogue over the sound effects.) Fortunately, it almost ended happily. They didn't have another copy, but they did let me trade.
Side note: the ratings system is a bit odd. My E rated games are more violent than some of the T`s.

I think they are to easy with the rating system here.
i could buy 18+ games when i was about 10 yrs old.
Maybe we do have a problem with our goverment:rolleyes:
Anyhow i found i copy and the shop tryed to sell it for €45
i asked the manager if he had seen somepink monkeys that day
and he kindley asked me to get the hell out of his shop:confused:

Just a little confirmation to what I said earlier about used copies of BO2.
My new disk came with some sort of.. residue on it. Some of it won't come off, it's ground into the dead space in the middle. I'm debating whether or not I even want to stick it in.
And I am not describing the residue or speculating about its origins.

LOL...I guess all used BO2 copies are damaged because the game has a lot of bugs and must be thrown out of frustration sometimes before traded..:D

I've got a non-LOK related one. My mom took my brothers and me to see Terminator 3 this summer. I walk up to the counter to buy tickets for me and by brothers. The lady says the movie is rated R so I can get in but I need a 21 year old to accompany my brother. I say, "My mom is right there." But then my mom decides to throw a hissy fit and absolutely refuses to see the movie for some stupid reason so I can't get my brothers' tickets. Luckily, my dad took us the next day and we enjoyed it:)
Back to BO2, new copies were pretty beat up too. I was trying to get a good copy for several months but they all looked like they had a run-in with the Samsonite Gorilla. Finally, last August, I found a fairly decent copy (only the corners were mangled) and it was in the clearance rack, so I figured I better get it before it's gone. Thankfully the disks were in good condition.
I'm sorry for you all, though I don't have any problems with these games. I'm 16, but my parents don't care about what I play, I don't think they even know that it's rated 17 or 18...;) They watched me playing, but they aren't interested in it...8)
I LOVE PLAYING LoK GAMES!!!8)

My parents don't care about what I play either, but I had to get one of my friends to buy me Defiance. He bought the X-Box version first! So I made him go back. ;)

I hate when you go to the counter with some 18 rated films and they say you look 18 but unless you have identification i can't sell it to you, but they will sell you R rated games.
(note must get Blood omen)
I will soon be 18 however and i will be able to buy them legally, i also hate that they put products at the counter. I do not want to buy a copy of Nuts or Loaded goddamit.
(must kill sex crazed teenagers)
Shoe shop people annoy me as well I shop at SCHULE or somthing like that and when you go they watch put on the shoes and stand in a group around the shoes i want to get to and i don't want to tell them to move because im not like that.
(note must kill SCHULE staff)
Note hehehehehhehehehehe

Wow. I've never had any difficulty buying M games, and I've been confused for 14 for the last 10 years. I only get carded when I go to bars, which is ironic because all I don't drink alcohol.
To all you looking for BO1, try Toys R Us. I found it in a multipack at two different stores (strangely with two different prices). Or try eBay. I'm going to get my BO2 from there.
