If the Janos we meet in BO2 is the one from Defiance who got possesed by the hylden lord that means Janos was imprisioned straight after Defiance. Am I right?

Can anyone fill me in if I'm wrong. Please I'm only 14 and I understand everything else about the series. LOK fan and proud of it:)

hmm i think it's still a mystery. he could have been imprisoned right after that, but not used for the device cause it was only used after Kain lost the battle with SL. but...does this really matter to the story? whether or not he was imprisoned, it doesn't really matter, cause we don't know what he would've been used for if otherwise.

But Janos first should be used to open a gate between the 2 dimensions since he's one of the ancients who sealed the locks betwwen the dimension and sure he knows how to open them
after that he will be imprisoned in the device

Yes, Janos is possessed, and then flown of to the HYlden City, or somwhere that he can be held captive.

He is then imprisoned to feed the Mass. If anything, he may have shown them where the stone was, since actually it was the stone that opened the portal.

the hylden needed a "vessel", and janos provided a perfect one. the hylden lord used him to open the gate, after which the hylden could enter Nogoth physically and therefore he was no longer needed. unless something else which we don't know happened in between, he was imprisoned right after the gate was opened and the device was completed (which could have required some time - building the glyph network and all)
