what are the Peramiters to get an SA reward?

how many shots total?

do they have to be silenced?

can i kill any and all bad guys or just the Targets?

is there a time limit?

or does it depend on the level it self?

From the way it looks, you are allowed one shot per target, plus one shot at a non-target. You are allowed one alert, one close encounter, one enemy killed (apart from your target(s)). You can use a non-silenced gun, but that is an alert right there, plus you are likely to get another when the corpse is discovered. Killing an innocent prevents you from getting the SA ranking. I think that's it.

I thought once that you were allowed one shot, period, but that has been disproven. I can confirm that you won't get SA if you take two shots at the SAME target, but people have gotten it firing 2 shots, 1 each at two different targets.

I remember reading something where a guy defined SA as a 2 point system. You can get up to 2 points, but once you go over 2 points, you no longer get SA.

1 shot = 1 point. (so 2 shots no matter who or what = the max)
1 non target kill = 1 point
Target Kill = 0 points.
Civilian = automatic fail? Not sure about this.

Here's an example:

I strangle a guard. Then I work my way to my 2 targets and shoot one, then strangle the other. I should get SA. 1 shot + 1 Guard = 2 points.

However, if I shot the Guard that would be 2 points right there, and I couldn't shoot my target.

Think of it like this, it makes everything easier.

That two point system doesnt add up perfectly. You are allowed to kill ONLY 1 person besides the target, as long as they are not a innocent. So orange circles on the map only, and just 1.

With you're theory you're saying I can Strangle a guard, take his clothes, strangle another guard, strange both targets and still get silent assasin. Here's the real requirements for SA-

1 Shot fired per target
1 Close Encounter
1 Enemy killed
0 Innocents killed
1 Alert
0 Detections

You can do that on every mission and get SA, but more than that and you fail. The alert you're allowed is ussually guards finding a body or someone that is tranquilized waking up.

The weapons you get for achieving Silent Assassin (and the ones you collect through the missions) are only available when you replay a level you have already completed. While in your game, quit back to the main menu, click start, select current game, and you will get a list of all the missions you have already completed. When you select one, you will get a weapons selection screen, and here you can use them. You can also go back into the training, and the guns are available there to practice with.

*****in' hard. so unfair. I killed just two enemies on mission 4, no alarms, no nothing, and didn't get the SA. I wanna see you move around in that jockey uniform through the house back to the street - the guards recognise you in no time. 1 enemy is just waaay too few

btw, what do you mean by "Close Encounter"? isnt' it the same as "Detections"?

A close encounter is when they almost see through the disguise, but you get away in time. If they do see through the disguise, it's an alert with a whole lot of gunfire coming in.

And it's quite possible to get SA on Beldingford Manor. You also have a syringe, so that allows you two disguises...

thanx, I did it :) . It wasn't that hard after all, but it wasn't that much fun, cause without getting the clothes from some guy outside the house one had to sneak around, which I dislike, I prefer disguise. I killed the guy in the cellar, so I had clothes for the house, for the outside location I stole the red clothes from some sleeping guy in the house, but it was a pain in the ass getting out of the house in those clothes, cause I was recognised too fast while wearing them in the house.

A close encounter is when they almost see through the disguise, but you get away in time. If they do see through the disguise, it's an alert with a whole lot of gunfire coming in.

But the close encounter is NOT part of the statistics at the end of the missions?! And anyway, how am I supposed to know whether a close encounter has occurred or not? The threat bar often gets red, how much "red" is a close encounter?

There's something else I don't understand - on this thread people say one shot is allowed per target. So in the biker mission I shot two targets with 2 shots+killed 1 enemy (not civilian) with one short, and I did NOT get the silent assasin! So I loaded a game and used the piano string on the biker guy (in the room with the safe) instead of shooting him, plus used the knife on the guy in the basement, and in the end got the Silent Assasin.

What do we conclude from that? Only ONE shot within the game is allowed, NOT per target.

However, maybe it's allowed to fire weapons more than once, like in the mission with the secret passage behind the glass? I had to shatter the glass with a bullet. So does such a non-killing bullet also count? So maybe you are allowed to kill just ONE enemy with a firearm, but apart from killing firearms can be used for other purposes?

Hope somebody can clarify on that. I am tired of repeating missions all over again just because the rules are not clear. The rules belong into the game manual! What else is a manual for?

besides, it would be much better, if the statistics displayed at the end of the game were updated and shown during the mission, otherwise you have to complete the mission to notice that you did something wrong
