I've Seen the Box Demo!

Hi all! I was just in Babbage's before & was startled & excited to see a Thief: Deadly Shadows box on the shelf. It's just a place-holder for pre-orders & it says on it that it's just a model of the actual box so the real box will probably look different. But it's a pretty attractive box all the same with a combination of black & dark blue on the cover & some screenshots on the back. There's nothing on it about the system specs though. Here are my notes on the box demo:

PROS:
+ Easily transportable, standard DVD-size box
+ Attractive presentation on front cover mixing black & dark blue with an image of Garrett
+ The blurb mentions stealth gameplay & doesn't make as big a deal out of killing people as some of the published ads have

CONS:
+ Box is not pyramid-shaped
+ Blurb on back of box simply repeats information everyone already knows--there's nothing new or exciting
+ Screen shots on back are too small to really see details
+ System specs aren't listed--we'll have to wait for the finished box for these

EVALUATION:
A very good box--all the flaws are things that may be corrected in the finished product. Even a pyramid shape is still possible though not likely. This is some promising boxage.

I kinda hope they use the same box as was used for DX:IW. The supersized plastic DVD case is far more robust and easier to get into than the cardboard sleeve cases other publishers use.

I didn't recognize the image--I spent most of my time reading the back of the box & don't really remember what the front looked like other than that it was an image of Garrett. I'd say it was either a new image or an old image that had been cropped.

Went to Electronics Boutique and Babbages today and no Thief box to be seen....of course I skulked in and out and did not ask the clerk, preferring to not be seen or heard... ;)

THAT IS SOOO STUPID!!! Black with dark blue on the box. What were they thinking!? I'm not buying the cotton-picking thing until they correct the colors on the box. Come on, black with dark blue!? That's not realistic!!!!

The box art seems quite cool and faithfull to previous titles. I just hope would lose that "deadly shadows" title from the front cover. Not a good name, not a good font.
