Anyone help???

When loading a new level the screen goes black after a few seconds, just before the background information on the game appears. The level loads ok but it would be nice to be able to read the info as well.
Thanks

I've just started getting the same problems, except the loading program crashes "Not Responing" and the load itself takes about 5mins.
Also, It's not the actual load screen that goes black i'ts the one just before it (they look identical).

Even by closing both DX2 programs the game will still load, appearing unexpectedly a few minutes later.

[Edit] I've just uninstalled Norton Internet Security, and wtf everything is now ok, well I'll try and trudge on through this game.

You could try running the game in Windows 2000 compatability mode. I'm not sure it will solve your particular problem, but it's worth a shot.

already done that. thx for trying though. Had my first CTD today playing the game :( Can you tell me if the 'Easy as Cake Tweak guide' thread suggestions are ok to try??? Dont want to damage my card or computer ( anymore than they already are ). For instance, the Guru3d Ati drivers, i know in the thread it says it wouldnt but........ Cheers

I haven't done those tweaks since my game worked well enough to begin with. But if you're worried about different drivers, you can use XP's system restore feature so you can go back if something breaks. Also back up any files you alter, just in case.

Something went wrong cause i'm on my second Radeon 9600 Pro card now. think i'll just play the game in lower res and leave the tweaks to the professionals
