Oh, man that's a toughie! I'm torn between BO1 and SR1. BO1's music was great, but it was just a bit toony in places. The darker and more ominous the better, IMO. I'll have to go with SR1.
BO2 had some great music too. Great, dark stuff.

I loved the music in Soul Reaver 2... The Sarafan Stronghold was amazing!

But, Soul Reaver's music was very good too, apart from one, because it always reminds me of block puzzles...

I liked SR1's music the best. That opening theme PWNS all others in the series. I liked SR2's ending music as well. I believe it's called "Overland"

i like sr2 music
but i voted 4 sr1 just 4 2 musics ozar midhar...;) and the one that plays in dumah's city ,this one is incridible
and in sr2 i like the ariel's theme,overland which u hear in the credits and the one u hear when u enter the sarafan stronghold the last time:D :D :D :D

Voting for BO1 myself. Although I enjoyed the SR1 tracks like Ozar and Ariel's Lament, I think i prefer BO1's much more. Particular favourites being:

1. Nupraptor's retreat - kind of like Ariel's Lament, has her doing a short speech in it, as well as a classic blood-curdling scream midway through :D.

2. Music first played outside of tomb

3. Don't remember where it's played but it has pan pipes in it, like a bit of pan pipes :).

4. Avernus/Lost City

Actually I found out which one that one was with the pan pipes in (least that's what they sound like to me), forgot I had the MP3's of BO1's music from www.nosgoth.net. It's the one called "On the road to vengeance". It's an overland theme but don't remember which point's of the game.

SR1. Ozar Midrashim is like whoa.. I listen to it all the time. I love the music in the Underworld too, as well as the one in Necropolis... Well I like all the music in SR1, hehe. :) Second place would be BO2, I love the Theme, Wharves, etc. Then SR2: Overland, Ariel's Lament, Sarafan Stronghold, EG's chamber. :)

SR2... Janos's retreat OWNS all music tracks... period. end of story. SR1 has very good music also... but Janos's Retreat theme did it for me... the rest of SR2 is pretty solid too.

I don't know if it's just me but I've always found that SR1's music and BO1's music stood out the most. I like SR1's music the most out of the series... SR1 was also the first LOK game I played (so you know it could be the whole first impression thing ;))
