ok so ive been working on getting this game working like everyone else it looks like :]
i have it running well but theres one problem i noticed thats really detrimental to the gameplay
when im playing it runs perfectly fine until i press any buttons on my mouse....jump/shoot ect....everytime i press a button it causes some sort of hiccup and my fps drops....i can walk around and go through heavily active areas with little or no slowdown...i further tested this walking around with nothing in my hands and then walking along the same path tapping the default fire button witch does nothing with your hands empty...and the vid gets all choppy for no apparent reason....i have no idea what could be causing this but it seems like something fixable maybe some mouse setting in one of the ini's i havent tweaked yet...all i gotta do is make this mouse hiccup go away and the game will run perfect...
my system is running a radeon 9200 agp, 1.6 ghz athlon, 512 mb 333 ddr 2700 mem, latest dna drivers installed....gonna try updating the mouse drivers though i doubt it'll do much :(

yeah this is definantley based around the mouse somehow...i bound the keys that were on the mouse to secondarily execute on the kb too and that hiccup disappears when i jump/atk from the kb....

Try the plain-vanilla Windows mouse drivers and see if that clears things up.

my mouse is a really basic microsoft wheel mouse so as you can guess xp had a driver built in supporting it

are you using a microsoft mouse by chance? curious if it has something to do with the mouse or the mouses drivers...still havent bothered trying to get new drivers for it since it happens nowhere else i assume its something in the game setup that i dunno about :o

hm setting the mouse lag thresh down to 0 as someone had specified in one of the guides floating around the forums seemed to noticeably help....but its still there....i tried setting the thresh into negatives but no change from 0 =] ...now i can jump once without the hiccup being really noticable but when i tap the buttons on the mouse for instance to fire a gun...bam...10 fps or so :p arf....me gusto helpe :(

oh and when i for instance...hold down the button to fire it runs perfectly smooth...but tapping it = very crappy video lag :p ...this seems like it'd be easy to fix if i wasnt so clueless about these things :(...anyone know how i can send the thresh hold into negatives? =]

Im on a old 3 button compaq mouse, not laser or nothin fancy =P iv never DLed any mouse drivers or anything, the mouse works fine with what ever comp i plug it into.
oh yah and mine runs fine when i hold it down too, its just when i click it.

k so its not hardware specific...after getting it to ease up from getting into the ini with the thresh hold code on 0 it seemed improved but not gone....i know there must be some way to fix this in the ini...just no clue how...tried everything i could think of and searched through the ini's for any mouse setting....that thresh one did make a difference it seemed...but 0 didnt entirely fix it ...if only it accepted negatives :(
still does seem to be there though but it helps with the smoothness a bit...still most likely the fix is hidden in some other setting i think

Hi,
I can tell for sure that its not hardware specific because when i first installed the demo under windows 2000 professional sp4 i didnt have this problem. but now im using windows xp sp1 and i have it. im thinking about installing win2k again, xp sucks.
