Well I don't see them wearing the new swanky wall climbing gloves, so I guess they are of the oldschool ilk! :D

Just a shame about the current climate. :(

I think the rope arrows were cut because they don't work in the warfare engine, due to shots going through static brushes and not sticking to them, or the rope arrows would stick to everything including stone textures on a static brush. Thief 3 is made from static brushes, and not solid terrain with a wood texture on it. In dromed the rope arrows stick to objects that have a 'can attach' property and wooden textures with the 'can attach' property on the texture. In unreal it is just not the same, the static brushes have textures on them, and you can give the texture a sound when it is hit, but I don't think you can add anything else. Because the properties for the static brush would include the whole static brush, not just the wooden bits. And if you use blocking brushes, then the player is stopped by the blocking brush, but arrow shots just go straight through.

Big ben is the big bell inside the tower at the top, they climbed the tower, forgotten what the tower is called.:D

Big Ben is commonly taken to be the name of the clock tower itself, but this is incorrect - the tower is simply known as The Clock Tower. Sometimes, the tower is referred to as St. Stephen's Tower, but this title is not used by staff of the Palace of Westminster.

Wow, rather them than me, can't stand heights if I am on the 'outside'....but 'inside' looking down is fine!

Belboz...thanks for that explaination of non-useable rope arrows...at least that's a reasonable answer for why not if all that is true...however, since I don't know of any other game currently or in production that would use that type of weapon, I can't say if it can be or has been modified in some way by another developer? Still does not make me happy about it none-the-less :( So taking your point a bit further, how would that explain the use of climbing gloves since they would theoretically "stick" to a wall in order to climb? Ta and Good Hunting!

Good question.

...the static brushes have textures on them, and you can give the texture a sound when it is hit, but I don't think you can add anything else. Because the properties for the static brush would include the whole static brush, not just the wooden bits. And if you use blocking brushes, then the player is stopped by the blocking brush, but arrow shots just go straight through.

I don't remember the reason for choosing this particular engine, but isn't there another engine that would have fit the purpose better? This engine doesn't seem to fit the requirements, or at least the desired effect, very well.

I see combining both Dromed and the Warfare, haha. Get the best of both worlds, pfft, so much for new technology, we can't have water and no rope arrows.
