can someone please help me on r109 beta. I can onlly kill 39 aarrrggghhhh so close:mad: :mad:

That one was very frustrating for me early on. The best I've gotten in that one to date is only 41. (Although I haven't had a go at it in almost a year...) How I managed that, was the no fear, rockets ablazin tactic. I just blasted rockets left and right, and ran like mad. After a while, you'll know were the power ups, and homing launchers are (which are very handy!) and will be able to use them. The trick is to get a good gun fast and use it as much as possible before dying. Almost kamikaze like.:D

That the team game one or the one where all are against you? any was drk is right. Make sure you get the homings as they will help you. Know where the weapons are and fire rockets 3 at a time in groups of betas. Homings 2ndary finds them in Groups too...

too bad there are no snipers, they wouldnt match to rocket lauchers anyway...not here on the ice station......

I'm at 39 too. :mad: Anyway, I noticed that using the aim sight you can kill bots more efficiently, whereas the 2ary fire (although very effective) spends 3 rockets per bot, at best. I often run out of ammo. Also, getting killed is verrry bad, as more often than not you restart far away from the gladiator action, losing precious time just getting there. I think you must try try try try... using combined tactics, and hoping for luck.

Once upon a time, that was my sig. That was before I found out how to put animated GIFs in that is!:D That was LONG time ago though, more then a year. Back in the day when I first registered here...:rolleyes:

After you're the gladiator, go underground and stay there. This way you only have to cover the entrances. Above the ground you're much too vurnerable.

After I would say around thirty attempts, my average got consistently near 35. Some thirty more games later, and following questrobin's advice (v.g. staying underground) I managed to finish what I thought was a fairly killful round. I wasn't checking my score and I saw a silvery cup flash on the screen, and thought it was another silver: darn, one more time just below par. But I read the screen again and suddenly I gave a start: platinum awarded!

Oh yes. I scored 46 kills, just when I was beginning to think 40 would be impossible, but seems I got both skilful and lucky at last.

Besides unlocking Lt. Chill ("only undead woman in the game"), I also unlocked the Roman Hat. That was kind of unexpected! I don't know if that happened due to the R-109 Beta Platinum Award, or because I finally unlocked every character available. Would someone know which one was that did it?

That is very good advice. I know people who were very successful with that strat, but I just like the guns blazin style sometimes.:D That's just me though, so If you want a plat, that's the way to go.

You're welcome, Alex. You're even better than me now, I have only 40 Kills.
The roman hat is unlocked by earning gold in R-109. There are some levels that unlock a hat. There are about six or seven different ones.
