ok heres my dilemma, ive saved my game on my xbox, at the underground part of the versalife in Antartica, ok everything so far has worked fine, until now i go to load this ONE save file, it goes to loading screen, loads up...then heads out to the Xbox main screen(the bit with memory, settings etc), thing is it only happens with this one save, i can start new game...go about....save....load and it will load to the save fine, its just this 1 save, could this possibly be a corrupted save or something, i dont think its possible on xbox but im not 100% sure, could it be a cd problem? maybe when it gets to that part of cd there is a fault in it, all my other xbox games work fine, just somethings happend to this one, anyways i hope some of you can give me some advice, or else its starting a brand new game as this was the only save file i was using for it.....grrrr its annoying now...i shoulda just used a few saves!!

Anyway thanks in advance for any help

yeh sounds like a corrupt save - they do happen on the Xbox and are more common than you may think.

not sure if all Xboxs do this, but the clock keeps resetting on the older ones (if you leave it switched off for something like more than 4 hours it will go back to 12:00 15/11 2001). does yours do this?

sometimes having the clock reset can cause havoc with save games, it happened to me on KOTOR. played it for 30 mins (so the save time was 12:30), left it off overnight so the clock reset to 12, played it for 10 mins, went to save it (so save time was 12:10), and it crashed - because basically it was confused because it looked like i had gone 20mins back in time.

anyway... i found this link helpful with Xbox game problems:

yea my xbox does do the resetting time thing, im not sure if its only if i switch it off, but if i switch it off and pull plug out it resets the timer for some strange reason!! so you think that it a corrupt save yea? i emailed Eidos Customer Service and they replied saying it was definetly a loading problem and to rule out the possibility of it being a disk problem, so im gonna try a few more times to load it 2nite, maybe givin the xbox a bit of rest will help it lol, and if that dont work its restarting DX2 time lol

I would just like to thank the XBOX owners of the world for turning up to this forum!

I don't think they get enough thanks for making this game what it is!

After all without Billy Gates and his 'vision' gaming would be a very different place right now.

You guys should stand up and take a bow!

:D

well i wouldnt consider myself an Xbox owner... im a PC gamer first and foremost (P4 2.8ghz, 1gig 2700 DDR RAM, 128mb GF4Ti4800, 120gb HDD, 16xDVD, 52xCD-RW, 4xDVD-RW, in an aluminium case with nice lights!)

but also have one of each of the current consoles - bought a PS2 first to play GTA3 and cos i needed a DVD player for my TV, then a GC and Xbox to play the games that are exclusive to them (Halo co-op, Munchs Oddysee, Zelda Windwaker, Metroid Prime, new Resident Evils)

however im quite impressed with the Xbox... it may just be a PC in a box, and the games are more or less direct conversions, but somehow its a good console. has just as many problems as a PC though... like games randomly freezing
