View Full Version : Oyabun/Pent Knife or Wire?

I'm about halfway with these...although I tend to carry a knife if even decided to bring a weapon.

Even though 47 executes a kill improperly with the knife (should stab deeply into the side of the victim's neck and push the knife forward in a forceful movement. This method will half decapitate the victim, cutting both his main arteries and windpipe, ensuring immediate death. *Depends on the knife.) it still offers an instant, silent kill on your target. But bodies of people killed with a knife will fall forward, which may alert nearby guards if they fall into their line of sight and occasionally, a target might cry out before you can silence them, but that's pretty rare.

The fiber wire I use less ... because it leaves you defenseless for a longer period of time, but when you kill with the wire, the target is pulled backwards, not forwards. This is good, because it allows you to pull targets back into doorways or around corners more easily. Second, it is always silent.

I'm a bit half and half with these two tools.

when going for the silent kills I tend to use the knife more, it has become a sort of trademark of mine. I like it because it just much more quick and effecient than the wire. The only downside is that the knife leaves more evidence than the wire, and if the guards in Contracts notice blood I might have to find something else to be my weapon of choice.

Knife: quick, deadly, concealable, messy:P

it actually appears in H:C from watching a video of the game at IGN that the knife is no faster then the fibre wire was in H1 or H2. In H1 and H2 the knife was definately faster but in H:C it doesnt appear so (although I havent seen a video where 47 uses the fibre wire yet in H:C) unless there is different moves you can do. If you check out the site below you can see it takes 47 quite a while longer to kill a person with the knife then in the previous two games. With that in mind the fibre wire may be the better choice of weapon since it not detectable by metal detectors. Although the knife looks like fun in H:C where you actually stab the victim in the neck rather then slice.

yea, stabbing looks cooler too, but it would be better if blood would stream out like a hose, that would be cool too

In contracts I hope it's more like a real hit, disposing of weapons and the likes. Personally I think I'd go knife.
