I said:
I installed the patch 1.2 and started playing from a saved game in Seattle. When I got to the order church and tried to pick up the multitool under the floor in the electrical room it told me my inventory was full. I only had 14 of them. I went upstairs to the church and there was a big pile of multitools on the floor. Tried to take a screen shot, but can't figure out what key it is assigned to.

I dumped the 14 tools I had and it allowed me to pick up 20 from the pile on the floor.

--Shebob
When I picked up these multitools, I couldn't pick up any more. It just said Inventory is Full. I could use them, but never pick up another one. I went back to the church dumped the bad ones and picked up my originals and I could then pick up at all I found except for list below.
Same thing happens at:
Greenhouse in Cairo, in the room with the Hellfire Boltcaster
First time in Cairo:
Mosque -- Multitool under the stairs and the one on the ledge.
Apostlecorp lab in Cairo -- the multitool on the ledge above a door.
-- Me again

Wow same thing happened to me in the Order church. Each time one of the Seekers walked past the HUGE pile of multitools, another multitool appeared out of thin air and dropped into the pile. I had 14 multitools and could not pick up anymore (inventory full message).

The mound of mutitools was growing fast so I decided to leave the map to avoid a crash. Fortunately, there's no reason to return to the Order church, so I think I dodged a bullet from that bug.

it's because the Order Church is really a secret multitool factory, because the order wants to take over the world by opening all doors to their armies...

I've run into this myself. A tad bit annoying.

Had seen it and bugged it myself. (A de-bugging tool, left in accidentally, is my only guess). Too bad it did not get fixed. :( Other than the unlimited multitools factor though, this patch has been pretty stable for me.

Please let us know if other 'Patch Anomalies' show up.

I reloaded an old save game there at the Order church and indeed found the same thing to happen. Could not pick up that multi-tool under the stairs until I dumped all my others in inventory. Hmm, strange. Probably since I had already played through there before I patched, I would have never noticed it.

Guess a glitch, but a minor annoyance. Overall, my performance has really improved since the second patch. Well enough to turn the shadows back on high.

Are there any comments yet from EIDOS or Ion Storm regarding the multitool glitch?

Yes. What Grey Mouser said (he works for Eidos).

My question was referring to the upcoming European release.

EIDOS wouldn't want to release the European versions containing that bug, would they?

Or will there be a patch for the patch? :(

edit: a posting from the Ion Storm forum:

OK so I'm back in Cairo, just cleared the Mosque from Templars ( including the milbot ) and I'm going down to the infirmary. Sure enough, the folks down there thank me saving their lives, and the doc wants to give me a medkit. Except that I have my inventory full - and the good doc spawns one right on his own shoulder. And then upon talking to him again, one on his head. And then on the ground. And again.

That's a weird bug, spawning multitools and medkits. These objects seem to have a different "flavor" to them, which causes inventory anamolies (strangely similar to storage corruption). Also, the "unlimited" nature of spawning the items could definitely lead to crashes.

The bug is probably worse than it appears on the surface. I hope I.S. gets another patch out soon to fix it.

About that multitool problem you all have been seeing, I got this from Ion Storm. Hope it helps...

Not all multitools stack properly. It’s possible to end up with a couple of separate stacks of multitools. This is only a problem if one of the stacks only has one multitool and the user tries to pick a 2 multitool lock. The problem can be remedied by dropping the single multitool and picking the lock. The dropped multitool can then be picked up again.

I saw the same problem. Originally, I saw a single multitool floating in the air on the roof of the emerald suites, then I walked through it and this happened.

Any word on this being in a future patch? Happened to me in the same place as I read here... top of Emerald Suites. First I get the "full inventory" warning and then every time i click on this vertical floating multitool they start breeding, eventually creating a writhing wriggly mass of multitools that keep falling over each other. it looks alive.

why couldn't this have happened to me with gold pieces back when i was addicted to MMORPG's, I say?
