Is there something to do in the tree above the croc's? I make it through the gate but keep falling down below.

I think you have to shoot the ball in the tree with the laser sight - not sure what it does.
I also think you can maybe see it from the ground and then shoot it.................but I'm not sure.

Yes you can see it from the ground and shoot it. There's nothing else on the tree.

I am trying to get back into the cemetery. I think you have to jump across the top back to the hole in the fence but I keep sliding down the hill. Any ideas?

I don't remember any problems getting back - just climbing on the side and then reaching the front.......................maybe a jump from the side to the front?

Is this at the crowbar area? If memory doesn't fail me, I made a running jump from the right side (near where there are pickups)to a flat spot near the front. Don't forget to use the crowbar for an element here.

Hi Drew, got some questions here, sounds like you guys are way ahead of me, anyway, here goes: Made it through the timed gate, fell out of the tree, killed the crocs, pigs, wolves, took the key, pulled the switch which let me out. Put the key in the right-hand switch of the cemetary, pulled the lever which let me into the next area, got up on the roofs, got the medpack at the opera backstage area, found a tile on one of the roofs that looked like it might be a trigger? and now I'm stuck. I can't go back to the jeep and I haven't found the next step to do. The only pickups I have are the crowbar and the jeep keys. I thought I tried the crowbar on everthing... did I miss something? I am using the first version of the game.

P.S. DNF, this is a great game, lots of new stuff in here! I'm hooked!:D

There's a jump from one of the middle roofs to the other side. The side opposite from where it looks like a trigger.
That leads to a lever.........................

good luck!

Yea Boo, like Bene said. The switch actually opens the rooftop. Then you know what to do with the crowbar within the shop. :)

Nice to see you on here. I was asking about you at a semi-thread on TLC here (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?threadid=2298). Good luck on SA!

Hi Drew, Hi bene,

It's good to be back. I've had SA loaded for a while, just haven't found time to play. Now I feel like I need to "relax" (lol) for a while, so I'm playing again.

Found the lever and the element and the key, now I'm "monkeying" around in the cage (sorry, couldn't resist:D ), walking around trying to see if there is something on the ground, whooops! Stepped in some uh, spikes.... got to reload! Trying to figure how to make the gate open so I can reach the poles and get to the upper walkway. Gotta hint?:)

hey, Boo.................got it yet? Or still need a hint? DNF is pretty tricky here.

Hmmmm.... looks like I'm gonna need some help, haven't found anything on the ground (except the spikes, wasn't expecting that, made me jump!), don't see any switches on the wall, hmmm.... give me a nudge in the right direction and let's see if I can get it. Yer right, DNF is quite the tricky dude! And I am really enjoying this game, the atmosphere and changes of scenery are impressive. Between TLC, COTW and SA I would hate to have to pick only one as the best. They are all excellent!

You may be beyond this now but if not...................... one tree is climbable and once you're up there don't go the obvious route.

Drew

@Bene, lol (not the obvious route?)...didn't find that way in my game but it may be another way (hope you're not talking of you know what :D

@Boo, yea long time since our TLC foray eh? :)

In one corner of that mini jungle (forgot the direction whether it's NE or SW or whatever),...ok, face the entrance. To your left is the uppermost reaches you need to go to (to get a key). So exactly behind you, to the left side corner, there's a hidden pit/cave where you find a switch (careful of the tricky spike placements underneath!). That switch there opens the wooden gates in the bridge. Onward and upward.

Drew, I never found that hidden pit - I guess I did it the "hard" way..................it seemed the only way to go at the time!
I'll try that out if I ever get back there.

TheBoo

Okay, I found the pit (or the pit found me, lol) pulled the switch, upward and onward (should I have killed the baboons? They do make a lovely light) got the key and got under the cemetary, (the LH door has nothing but coffins and spikes?) killed the scorps (Really ominous music, made my skin crawl with anticipation!) and now I'm drowning in a water cave with passages everywhere. I'll keep blundering on.

@ bene, if you didn't take the "obvious" path on the tree, how did you get around? Just curious, I couldn't find a legit way to get around.

@Drew, yea, it's been awhile since TLC but I will never forget the quest for the grenade gun in the bonus area! Whew!!

I went back to that tree and figured if the right side can't get me there , the left will ( I had not found the switch to open the gate )so I hung and shimmied left ( from the tree) and got to the ledge on the left. From there I got to the mound and that brought me to the last pole or rope. I never used the other pole(s)?/ropes
It really wasn't hard............of course, having the gate open would probably have been easier.

I tried to shimmy to the left, but it didn't work for me. Lara would start to shimmy to the ledge, but then she would jerk back to the tree trunk. I had her hands lined up with the edge of the ledge and then tried it a little lower, still wouldn't work. Maybe I didn't have her in exactly the right spot.

I just went back and redid it. You go to the very top of the tree, make sure Lara is hanging, shimmy around to the left and drop onto that tree ledge. From there it's a running jump/grab to the ledge against the wall..........................try it!

TheBoo

Yer right! I didn't think about hanging flat and climbing to the top to shimmy around the corner. Smart move!!:) :)

it's fun when there's more than one way to reach a goal !

Yes !!! I highly recommend it !!!

I started Last Crusade, which is really good too, but my game puter is down right now, I'm waiting for my P4 2.0G from Motherboard Express...

At the moment, I'm using my backup - a Gateway 120MHz, with Win95 - but you know, it's amazing how well it handles it's job... sometimes we forget, when we upgrade, that the old machine worked fine at what it was supposed to do...
