Bang bang you're dead dead

I've just bought the PC version (Win XP) - so far, so good. But ...
Every time I fire any weapon, it always uses two rounds of ammo instead of one. I've tried reducing the keyboard repeat rate and delay, but there's no difference.

Does anyone know how to fix this please ?

Install the patches.

On your start menu under TRAOD there is a link to the EIDOS web site where, after a few clicks, you will find the patches.
