That big creature is Turel, Raziel's vampiric brother. When Kain started building his empire, he went to the Tomb of Sarafan and raised six dead human Sarafan Warrior Priests. They were Melchiah, Zephon, Rahab, Dumah, Turel and Raziel who were killed in the past by the demon Raziel. Kain resurrected the six humans and gave portions of his soul to them. Thus, the former human Sarafan Warrior Priests were turned into vampires. Raziel was the first one raised, thus Raziel also got the most powers. The next was Turel, then there were Dumah, Rahab, Zephon and Melchiah, with Melchiah being the last one and receiving far less powers than the ones before. The six vampires became somewhat Kain's vampiric sons and apparently saw each other as brothers and were brethren as whole. Each helped Kain ruling the empire and eventually apparently came to have their own clans with vampires who had inherited some of the main powers of each lieutenant. So there were the Melchahim, the Zephonim, the Rahabim, the Dumahim, the Turelim and the Razielim. But one time Raziel came out from the state of change and emerged with a pair of new wings and thus came to possess the gift of flight which no vampire had ever had. Thus Kain tore off Raziel's wings and ordered Raziel to be cast into the Lake of the Dead, also notoriously called the Abyss, where traitors and weaklings were cast. Thus it was both oblivion and apparently utter dishonour for Raziel. The two brothers who dragged Raziel to the ledge and threw him in were Dumah and Turel. Raziel then eventually emerged from the Abyss in the future as a demon and entered the Material Realm once again. He then pursued his brethren as an act of vengeance and as Raziel defeated the brethren, inherited some of their powers. Raziel's brothers were not the vampire lieutenants as he remembered them, though. They retained very little of their former humanity and were more like monsters. Turel eluded Raziel in LOK-SR and then Raziel eventually jumped through the Chronoplast to pursue Kain and ended up in the past. Thus Turel was not in TLOKS-SR2 either. But now, in LOK-D, they finally met. :)

And here are also some links to websites I'd quite recommend to you, because there perhaps might be something more to Turel, the Turelim and Turel being left out of LOK-SR. So if you'd like to read more of this subject, visit those sites.

To answer your question:

Turel was summoned from the future back to Defiance-era Nosgoth. Presumably, it was Lady Azimuth's doing.
