Hello everyone, I'm The Extreme Piercing. I've been spectating at this forum for over a year now, and what with Defiance only a month away (I'm a European), I've decided that now's the time for me to sign up.
Anyway, I have an idea for the next LOK. At the very start of Soul Reaver 1, Raziel says "Kain is deified. The clans tell tales of him." Well, why not tell those tales in Legacy Of Kain VI? It would be set in the heydey of Kain's empire. You could have it narrated by a hoary old elder vampire at a campfire, telling all these infant fledglings stories about Kain's exploits and adventures. Much like the chapters in Defiance, all the levels in this game could be divided into Tales, only this time every Tale has its own setting, story and conclusion. You could replay Tales to try and do better. Also, the narrator would make much use of artistic license, and Kain would be portrayed in only the most flattering, heroic terms. We would get an insight into Kain's empire, and we might even get to play as a pre-fallen Raziel.

It may not be possible to do something like that: Defiance is all about Kain seeking some other future then that shown in Soul Reaver. Due to the events of Defiance, Soul Reaver's history may not happen at all. I can't say more without ruining something, but by the end of Defiance, one key person from Soul Reaver is no longer present.
Best of luck, btw, with Defiance! It's enjoyable, and hopefully you will be able to experience a glitch-free game! (Which really is possible-honest!)

Hello Extreme! (is it ok to call you that?)

I highly doubt it will happen. *sigh* But I agree with you completely. Well, almost completely. I'd like to see Kain heroic, yet evil and sadistic too. ;) Everything else you said sounds great to me. It would be a game I would love to sink my teeth into :D

Hey, we need a fang smiley in here! No, really!

And just out of curiosity, how extreme are your piercings? Got pics? Show them to us here. (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16109)

Young Kain refused to the sacrifice, the pillars were destroyed, so Soul Reaver's history might still happen. I guess it's all up to the Old Kain...

Sarah, If Raziels actions of changing history in SR2 had caused SR1 to collapse and fail then that fatal paradox that kain spoke of would have occured. It was necessary for the SR part of the series to happen because it plays an instrumental part in defiance, raziel had to be the way he was for it to work. besides, everything they did had no affect on raziels past unless you count his killing himself Anything that the Kain from the time of SR1 did to realize his destiny as balance guardian would most likely only affect nosgoth (balance-wise) after he returned to the time period he had left behind.

the entire idea of changing history with the reaver comes from raziels soul being in the blade at some point. if he was not "reborn" the way he was then the sword would have been the blood reaver for all time and therefore unable to change history at all.

What's interesting is, if he is able to right everything he feels is wrong in Nosgoth's history, but ends up at the same desolate SR1 place.

I think I didn't get my point across very well (curse these stupid hands of mine) what I meant was... that Kain would do what it takes for him to become the scion of balance, then return through the chronoplast to the time he left behind in SR1 and use his newfound position in life to restore the pillars in that time.
